I joined here because I thought it would be nice to be in touch with some people of similar thoughts

2 times 2 equals 4. To say that 2+2 equals four would be to imply that "4" is the answer to two equations. Since we know that something can not be two different things at once, it is impossible for 2+2 to equal 4. Therefore, both 3 and 5 are perfectly reasonable answers.
