I must wonder what this post is really asking.  Christians have no more idea of what God or Gods are let alone what the reality of God or Gods is.  The Christian bible has been proven beyond doubt lies.  It is not divinely inspired or is it the infallible truth of a infallible God.  To ask Christians about God is like asking a sighted man to answer what it is like to be blind from birth.

Christians have no clue as to what God or Gods are let alone what God or Gods might think or want or desire.  They would have no clue.

I think it's intended to point out the issues with saying humans are made in god's image.

Actually if I am not mistaken God appeared to Moses butt naked, and he appeared as a man. :bananacolor:

Quote from: "twmac1"kenh, first post so please no flames (lol) anyway throughout scripture God is describe in many different ways, but as for God being like man  having ears and a nose and hair and maybe skin color, I dont think that would be accurate. As for being created in Gods image that definition(image) could mean a mental representation; idea; conception. Great question also

Welcome to the forum twmac1, and thanks for attempting to answer my question.  I do think the bible verse quoted is too specific though to be taken as anything other than a physical description. Other verses may have different descriptions of God, but then the bible is full of contradictions like that.

thanks, i know there are statements in Gods word that seem contradictive (really there is),but given the different sides of opinions by men they will never be understood by man.

So why did he bother to hand them down to us?  :hmm:

Once again I apologize for the confusion, like I said I skimmed the first page looking for responses and when I found none I moved on.  I will see to it that this does not happen again.  The bible does give a clear reference to the physical form of God in one of Moses’ dealings with him.  God told Moses to bow his head or close his eyes or some such nonsense, and that God would run naked in front of Moses but Moses could not look until after God passed him running.  And Moses got to see Gods bare ass as God was running away.  Could be God did not want Moses to feel inadequate upon seeing Gods manhood, though the Virgin Mary seemed not to mind it.

Virgin Mary didn't feel it ... maybe God was jealous of Moses 0.o

Why does God have an appendix? (or, for that matter, any other vestigial organs), which would suggest he evolved from lesser forms of a god.
Ford: "It's unpleasantly like being drunk."
Arthur: "What's so unpleasant about being drunk?"

"'Why is it you never mentioned any of this before the plane crash?'...'I didn't think the time was ripe.' " [emphasis delightfully Vonnegut's] -- Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-5

Good point.
I wonder if god shaves, or at least trims his beard.  What about circumcision?   :hmm:

We know he had his boy done.  As to shaving, if he did he would be correcting an imperfection in himself - else why shave?  That's why the standard model shows him hairy.
