Interested in what other people think. I may be the crazy one.

I'm strange, I don't really get too much out of looking but not touching so I tend to fall asleep.

Nothing pisses off a dancer more than falling asleep, you know, FYI.

I cannot stand strip clubs. I went once when I was 18 and it was the most depressing place ever, even worse than CostCo. There were a bunch of clearly depressed, alcoholic men, and a lone 18 to 19 year old girl on stage. She had this vacant look on her face, like this was her version of being bored at work.
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

My hubby said yeah, go, have a great time.  He knows I don't really care to look at other men so it's a non-issue.

Now... to a club with female strippers... that might be another matter altogether.   woohoo

But the poll answer would be the same regardless of stripper gender.

Surely you're thinking of movie scenes, right?  That's the typical movie strip club and I didn't think something that depressing actually exists out there.   :verysad:

It's called "Pink Poodle".

I don't like to go to strip clubs where the people don't want to be stripping....that's just depressing.  :verysad:

edit:  My husband doesn't care if I go to strip clubs and I don't care if he goes to them.  I don't think he's been to one since his own bachelor party.  We use to go while in college because the strip club there also had inexpensive beer...neither of us has felt much of a desire to go here in Dallas.

well i am hosting a bachelor party and a couple of the guys are not going to the strip club part of it because their wives don't want them to go. my wife is fine with it and i don't really see a huge problem with going. I figure it is the thing you do if you are getting married. I just want to show my friend a good time in a pretty traditional way. i wouldn't go on my own, but i would go if i was asked especially if it was for a bachelor party.

Been to a few, and they are really worthless places, IMO. Waste of time.

We used to have a lot of hen nights come to a hotel i used to work at. Many of them would have male strippers turn up to do a show. Some of the things these women did were FAR worse than anything i've ever seen at stag parties. I'd consider sucking whipped cream off an erect penis to be cheating, which seemed to happen a lot... Real classy.
To be honest, the stag parties i've been to which involved strip clubs or strippers were fairly banal. The guys were always quite coy and no one would ever think of doing anything their other half's would dissaprove of. Maybe that says something about the circles of friends i have though.

If you are in a stable, loving relationship then there shouldn't really be an issue. I've always been an advocate of the philosophy 'you can look, but don't touch'.

You're so right. A lot of the time it seems that guys won't be caught doing anything worse than getting a lap dance at their party, while the girls at their party will do far more (and not even think it's a big deal. Their girl friends are there after all.) The thing is plenty of the girls I know would probably "lick the cream" the night before their wedding if their friends pressured them enough. It's just crazy. They don't see it as cheating, or as a "big deal" while I know I would personally have an insurmountable problem with it.

Any other thoughts? I would like to hear from some females about what they've seen go down at their or their friend's crazy bachelorette parties.

I've seen some pretty crazy bachelorette parties on the internet. Yeah, that is cheating. But the club I'm going to is a well lit public place. i don't know why the married guys can't pay the money to get in, sit, have a soda, and leave. not going to the strip club, won't keep your marriage safe, if you are really worried what might happen if you go to the strip club.

I don't think I could watch a male stripper without laughing.  However, I love watching female strippers.  We have a lovely strip club in Kalamazoo.  The strippers there obviously enjoy themselves.  Oh, and they have several nights a week that chicks get in free with their boyfriend - and it's not hard  to find a "boyfriend" to go with, LOL.  There's nothing like watching an exhibitionist get all hot and bothered taking her clothes off.

Mmmmm, now I'm going to have to go write about my first lap dance.

But strip clubs that are sleazy or the girls don't like working at - that just seems sad.

I don't mind if my boyfriend goes to strip clubs - though I would at the moment because of the unnecessary expense.  I'd also be irritated that he didn't take me if he went alone, not that he would go without me.

But until we're back on our feet financially we'll just have to "settle" for having our girlfriends dance for us.

To answer the question, it's up to the married/partnered people involved as to what is acceptable to them.  Every person is different - so don't ask us, ask them.

The only bachhelorette party I've been to was my own; we didn't have a stripper and my husband and his friends showed up at the same dance club later that night.

I don't think anyone I know would lick cream off of a male stripper even if they were not in a relationship....One really good reason not to is that you don't know where he has been.  And of course it would be cheating (unless the person is in a type of open relationship that allows for doing things like that).  Anyway...I wouldn't do it for the above reasons and because the idea just sounds icky to me.
