Scientific proof for evolution, that's new!

But in all seriousness, I love every discovery that pushes back the boudries of ignorance.

It's hard to get excited about when you know that now there are two more gaps to be filled...

I've seen Ida on the news today as well. She was excavated at the Messel pit near Darmstadt.

The person in charge of today's Google home page logo made it Ida themed.  See attached, I didn't want to link to it since I didn't know if the link would work after today.

Yeah, I've been setting up Ubuntu, so I haven't had a lot of time to post in here, but when I saw the google search today I was grinning from ear to ear.  I'm shout-stifling happy at the moment.  Phenomenal find, and great taste on google.     :D

As great of a find as this is, I don't see it changing any minds.  There are already plenty of transitional fossils found, and so far the hard-line Creationist response has been "Not good enough!"

Right.  If you are someone who never reads about science except when a Creationist group publishes something they claim to be scientific you aren't going to be convinced by any real evidence.  If you are someone who never bothers to read about the subject you're going to have to use faith to honestly think it is true because you don't know that there is real evidence.  If you're having to use faith anyway, might as well be in the subject you think will get you into heaven.  In other words, willful ignorance can't be fixed with more information.
