Ben-AG

Hey guys,

My name is Ben, and I'm from Texas.  I am currently studying medicine and, as far what I aspire to do with that in the future, I couldn't tell you for sure  :D

Hey, welcome to the forums.  And you're in good (evil?) company, loads of people are from Texas on here.  I'm a state away in the bayou.  At least you guys get dry heat.  Not Arizona dry, but still...   :D

Caligula's Ghost

I know about the humidity of Texas (San Antonio) and the brutal heat of Arizona (Glendale).  I think I've finally adapted to this dry heat, and if I had to choose I'd skip the humidity.  :D
A witty saying proves nothing.

Welcome to the forum! I'm a texan too, though I look to move out of this state ASAP!

Hello Ben - Welcome!

I lived in Dallas for about 10 years - do I count as "Texan"?

Nice to meet you,

I guess you count as a "Texan" if you consider yourself one.  :(

You were my greatest mistake, I fell in love with your sin
Your littlest sin.

Politics, weather, and no surf, no skiing. (Well, there's surf maybe 10 days out of the year. And I'm always working when it's here - and it's usually in the winter time.)

I'm looking to move with my better half to either Denver or San Francisco in the next year. (We've narrowed it down to those two cities.)

I'm currently between Houston and Galveston. It's waaaay too hot.

Well you're going to run into politics anywhere you go.  I would definitely shy away from California considering the economic troubles they are in at the moment, but, of course, if your willing to endure it, more power to you.  The surf is quite decent at South Padre Island; can't speak for Galveston..maybe you should have capitalized when the hurricane came through   . BTW, did it(Hurricane Ike) have any ill effects on you?  You are, however, correct about the lack of skiing opportunities, but no one lives in Texas to ski..that's what vacations are for.

BadPoison

Well, I don't live in Texas for any other reason besides being born here. Hurricane Ike didn't affect me directly, however my uncle, and grandfather both lost their homes - One of which is still in the process of selling his condemned home. I had a cousin who's roof caved in because of wind/rain and ended up with a ton of water damage. I would say as a whole though most of us were lucky.

I way prefer Big Tex as an authority figure to god, so, H  O  W  D  Y .
