I work in Dallas and we just had a cut-to-the-bone layoff today. I survived but I hurt for the fired, and our insane boss axed some of the most vital people. A poor decision, plus the fact that the company is A NEWSPAPER (obits all round for the newspaper biz are all over media other than newspapers) have got me  way nervous.

 :(

I'm glad you made it, and sorry to hear about the others.  I guess Richardson just took a hit also, a co-worker's husband at Nortel reports his entire department was let go Monday morning with instructions to clear out by the end of the day.  These are the first I've heard of personally in this area, aren't things supposed to be getting better?
