I don't understand what coming out of the closet means.....for atheism

For gays, it's a biological link.  For us theism, vs, w/e 'ism' is just a belief.
IMO

Atheists are the last minority it's ok to discriminate against. Some Atheists recieve violence, death threats, loose thier jobs, get disowned, loose friends, or alot of other negative events. So similars to homosexuals many Atheists/Agnostics remain quite about thier beliefs to protect themselves or thier families.
