Quote from: "G-Roll"and the story is soooooo good that my girl friend got mad that i was playing it without her. she claimed that she likes to help me make decisions and now will be lost in the story line.

Haha, I did that when my fiance played Mass Effect 2 without me.  :)

Quote from: "G-Roll"i finally got heavy rain. its beautiful!! my only complaints are the movement system sometimes pisses me off and often id like to know what my options are. the game requires you to press buttons and roll or push the left thumb stick to perform actions. just it isnt always clear what the action is. for example, i tried to cook dinner and thought i was going to grab a pizza, but i snatched a beer instead.

Finish the game and you can go back and play chapter-by-chapter with the choice to save your decisions (thus erasing everything in your game from that point on but keep your trophies) and not have your decisions (so you don't lose your access to all the chapters but can still get other trophies). Incidentally, if you do a chapter and make a decision that's different from the one in your save game, as long as you keep playing without quitting you'll get to see how it plays out until, possibly, the end of the game. So, let her know that you can go back and do everything, anything, on demand. ;)

thats so cool. i love the idea of the option to save.

i saw that i could replay the chapters. so far all my characters are alive, thats the only end result (besides the over all mission) that really concerns me... so far.

I keep sitting at my house just waiting...waiting...waiting...waiting for the call.

I reserved my copy of Heavy Rain but I was a late reserve. I'm now waiting for the next shipment of the game and the game store is supposed to call me soon to tell me they have a copy.

This is the first game in a while I've had high expectations for, and it looks like I won't be disappointed.

Ten-years-in-the-making kind of awesome?

I hadn't purchased it but I think my wife ordered it for me as my Valentine's present. Just before the end of the term, too. Great.  :hissyfit:

My fiance is out RIGHT NOW buying FFXIII for me.  I can't help but be super excited, even though I've been somewhat disappointed with FF since X.

I played last night until you take control of Vanille. Why, oh, why must I have schoolwork and a job?!  :hissyfit: I'm sooo taking a couple days vacation during spring break and playing the entire time.

I'm trying to decide on whether or not to get FFXIII.  Quick rundown of me, and hopefully you all can tell me if you think I'll like it.  To keep it short, I mainly play FPS, but love the occasional RTS and RPG.  I HATE micromanagement, and this is what has turned me off to a lot of RPGs in the past. Love Fable, ME1 and ME2. HATE WoW. Couldn't get into DA:O.

From what I've seen so far, FFXIII (as with most FF games?) is largely about the story and cutscenes. The fight sequences are turn-based, strategic in nature and don't require a lot of inventory management, and the game doesn't seem to revolve around item-gathering or leveling up too much; i.e. these things happen naturally as you play the game and you don't have to run off in a forest killing wild animals for XP.

I guess what I'm saying is, if the above paragraph is accurate, I'll like the game.  If I'm off about the micromanagement or item/XP bs then I might hate it.

Last thing: I am an absolute sucker for kick-ass story/plotlines, and truly epic cutscenes. I'm talking cinematic here. The endings for Halo 3, ME1 and ME2 come to mind. If a game might as well be a ridiculously long movie that is mindblowingly amazing with the occasional interactive bit, I'd be just as happy.

So....will I like it?

Ninjaedit: If yes, then a followup question: Since I'll have to wait a while (3+ mos) to get it anyway, should I get the XBox 360 version that's scaled down, or go ahead and get a PS3 for the game? I have other uses for a PS3 besides this one game, just haven't bit the bullet yet.
