Actually corruption the rom file, mapping out the addresses and editing them.  I guess maybe I'm on a whole different plateau of geek.

EDIT -
BSnes is a great SNES emulator that's come on the scene recently.  I'm more into N64 hacking myself though, just because it's not as crowded by people who know way more than I do, so I can build my skills while actually contributing something.

There's a NES emulator here. It's not the best one for sure. Except it is. It wins because it's written in JavaScript! Perhaps only programmers will appreciate its awesomeness.

I'm a programmer, and i've done java and javascript ... damn thats awesome.  I actually just got a different game today so I might do some emulators when it gets boring.  I'm working my way through the .hack series I just bought .hack//mutation.  I need to finish up infection but last time I fought the end boss he spanked me.  Well...not my fault, my teammates ran out of revives and when I died they couldn't revive me.... cheap bastards. :-D

**edit/note** It would be even more awesome if it was a japplet.  An interesting idea would be to post it on a website and have a way to load a ROM from your machine (or the safe way from the site)

Been playing Demon's Souls.

Wow. It's so unforgiving. Any amount of laziness is punished by a death. There's no hand-holding in this game.

Demon Souls looks very repetitive.  It might be fun on Wii.  Next big game i'm looking forward to is Starcraft 2 and Possibly FF14.  Just because Final Fantasy 14 has the character classes from FF11 (though they changed the names).

The beta version won't be out for a while. Apparently, they haven't gotten the balance issues figured out quite yet.

Yeah they are still doing a lot of number play.  If you are really interested in it you should google Starcraft 2 Battle Report.  You can watch 2 game testers in action with a commentary that reminds me of watching poker on television.  They need to hurry their asses up and put it out so they can put out Diablo 3.  I think my gameinformer magazine said that SC2 got pushed back to like May of 2010

Late to the party, but I'll joint anyway. I haven't had a console for about 4 years now, my last one was a beat up xbox, and I never had any of the next gen ones. Though I've played on them with friends.

Anyways, I keep my inner gamer happy with Go, and Legend of Zelda emulators, and that's about it. All I really need, really.  ;)

Did you hear about Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time 2D? This guy was programming the OoT game in a top-down view and was going to release it to the internet for free. But nintendo sued his ass and shut him down. It's a shame, really. I would have paid gobs of money to have played it.

I remember those legend of Zelda games.  I only beat the original but I watched my buddy play OoT from start to finish and beat the hell out of it.  My same buddy got a Wii points card and downloaded Pokemon Snap on my Wii ... and the original Paper Mario.  Classics still rock.  Its a shame kids these days won't know what any of these games are and would laugh at the shitty graphics... by the way I'm starting to play through the original Starcraft while waiting for number 2 to get its ass in gear.

Only two more weeks until Modern Warfare 2 comes out! Who's psyched for that game?! I pre-ordered for my PC, but what I'm a little mad about is that it's not gonna have dedicated servers nor mod support.

Okay, honestly people.  Pokemon Snap was a crappy game.  The sooner you admit that to yourselves the better off you'll be.
