Quote from: "curiosityandthecat"I have a PSP. As far as I know, the plastic around the UMD shouldn't open. Does it securely latch back after it separates? None of my games do that (but, I'm only going from memory).

It does not latch back. What a poorly constructed format. I got two games for like $12 so it's not the end of the world if they don't work. I should have my PSP in the next day or so, so I guess I will see then. Perhaps a sliver of tape will fix it.

Got the PSP in the mail today and I can't get either game to work... This is what I get for trying to save some money. So, I can not tell if it's the used games or the used PSP. I've got a UMD movie coming in the mail in the next few days so hopefully that will be able to tell me which ebay item(s) I got were junk.

Did they put it on rails? That's the only way it makes sense to me

Yes, they did. That was the only way for them to make it work. The only thing I don't like so much about the games are the very long dialogs. The graphics are awesome, much better than the Doom-II game that I had on my Nintendo Gameboy Advance.

Arkeg

QuoteBeer and gaming go together like Mario and Luigi, and the Arkeg ($4,000) offers up plenty of both. This arcade game-styled machine features a fully functioning kegerator in its belly, with room for a 5 gallon keg kept cool by a solid-state thermoelectric cooling system. In addition, it sports a gaming-ready PC, pre-loaded with 69 games such as Asteroids, Mortal Kombat II, and 1942. Other features include a 24-inch LCD with protective overlay, an authentic backlit marquee, a 2.1 sound system with powered sub, two complete arcade controllers and a trackball mounted in a custom aluminum panel, a side-mounted tap with interchangeable handle, and more.

Reason I bought PS3. I was an early adopter and got one of the first versions that also supports PS2 games. Thank god.

Just an FYI...

Blizzard's Blizzcon is being broadcast as a Pay-Per-View event on DirecTv (and and internet feed too).

Ozzy Osbourne will be performing there.

Tho I won't be attending, my voice will (I'm in a commercial spot).

Anyone going?

Hehe, that is cool. Do you have any links to any voice overs you've done before? I remember the Portal one, which was pretty badass.
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

Can you tell us what commercial your voice is in?  Right now, the channel is just showing a loop of Blizz ads with occasional footage from last year.  I have to keep working, but we're Tivo'ing it.  Sad, huh.

I am about 3/4 of the way through Daxter on PSP. I picked it up for $5 at Gamestop with the original case. For a kids' (E 10+) game it is pretty good. It is your stand "walk through a level jumping (in this case swatting) on creatures and collecting currency (eggs)". The levels can be challenging at times, but over all it is a casual game. There are several mini games that are time based button mashing levels that give Daxter increased max health or new moves. If you want an easy game, that is fun and time consuming, Daxter is a good choice. I give it a flat B.
