Been playing alot of Angry Birds for my ipod touch lately. That is entirely too fun of a game. Put way too much time into it for the kind of game it is. Highly recommended as a good time waster for anyone who has an ipod or iphone.

I've played WoW very on and off for the last two and a half years. Two weeks ago I deleted my druid (was 9/12 on new bosses at the time) and all my other characters. Bout four days later I started a new guy.  The difference now is that I seem not to have urges to play, because I never feel like I'm getting behind. I guess its because I'm still leveling (a warrior). I really love the game because it allows me to fulfill some of my fantasy requirements, keep up with a few friends I never see anymore, and meet lots of new people from all over. I just need to make it fit better in my life a.k.a. not take up 30 hours a week like it used to. Do I consider all 75ish days played I had wasted? Not exactly. Do I wish I had taken that time to learn something more "useful"? Only in the sense that I know my time with WoW has a definite end. Either I will quit in the next five years, or its entirely possible Blizz might call it quits on WoW in the near future (although according to a recent project slate leak there are at least two more expansions in the works). I could have spent that time learning a skill like how to play an instrument or a foreign language that could serve to entertain me for the rest of my life. I guess it's not really all that dark a prospect though, I know I've come away from my /played with certain intangibles, just not how valuable those exactly are. Lok'tar ogar.

Just hopped off a Mass Effect 2 binge :drool  Are all RPGs that time consuming?

Still need to play Bioshock 2, and I'm looking forward to Bulletstorm. Yay, mindless violence.

Hot dang, how I miss the NES and the N64.

I played World of Warcraft for awhile, then introduced it to my Uncle around the time I stopped. Now he plays it ALL the time and has like... 6 level 80's. Not sure how many 85's now.

I loved when Bush came out and said, "We are losing the war against drugs." You know what that implies? There's a war being fought, and the people on drugs are winning it.

I play world of warcraft! I have been playing it from when it frist came out. Sometimes it can get pretty addictive! but it's a fun game when you do not have anything else to do!
We have talked about this before! I know you love me! But I think it would be better if we just stayed as friends, Jesus!

I tried talking to Satan the other day, but just like god, there was no response!

It's like crack for awhile, but it's SO tedious starting out.

I'm trying to get into Bioshock (the first one). I'm not really a fan of the horror genre, though.

Horror? Bioshock!? When I played it I never got that vibe from it. I found more funny than creepy. I mean sure it's dark, closed off, and full of "zombies." But, to me Bioshock is basically a first person shooter/rpg with some dieselpunk/psychological thriller aspects sprinkled on top.

This may be because I played it right after playing dead rising, in which I spent most of the time sweeping through zombies as if they were an army of mudcrabs. While wearing ridiculous clothing, and using ridiculous weapons.

Well, my definition of "horror" isn't the most specific. Usually it just means anything dark and/or gory. And I'm creeped out by games and movies that are dark and gory.

That doesn't mean I won't play Bioshock. It just means I have to go into it cautiously. I definitely like it so far, although the combat system looks like it'll take some time to get used to.

I also rented Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is pretty "meh" so far. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 seems to be the better game so far. That reminds me: I need to get the Vietnam expansion for that game. But I have no monies  :drool .

I also also bought Battlefield 1943, which seems like a really dumbed-down version of Bad Company 2 (which it is, I guess). I probably shouldn't have bought it, but I'll be damned if those rich fools who bought the Ultimate version of the game get to have stuff I don't.

I've played a bit of the first one, but haven't had time lately.  Liked it so far.  Definitely a creepy FPS.

...I just noticed this thread....

No, I do not play WoW. Never have, never will. Won't start ranting about it.

For me this year is going to be a pain because there are so many good games being released and I have to decide wich one I really really REALLY want to get... :sigh: ). Well, it's a long time until then so who knows what might happen.

What's your problem with WoW? You can't just offhandedly mention something interesting, and then not spill the beans!

My stance on WoW is, and always has been that it's a good game that (Like most everything) is perfectly alright in moderation.

It's also one of the few games that gets the rogue experience just right. That and I can play as a ranger, or something close to it anyway, which makes it awesome in my book.

Edit: Inventory management does add a whole demension of character customization, but too much of a good thing can make an otherwise great game seem painfully padded and tedious... the Fallout series for example.

I've become jittery and paranoid after playing through Dead Space 2. I completed it last night. It is the first game i've ever played which actually petrified me. Doom 3 was bad (as in mildy scary but relied too much on dark corners and you couldn't shoot with the flashlight on??!?) and Dead Space 1 was horrific but they have nailed it with the second installment. The last time i felt that scared was when i watched Alien when i was eleven years old.

I'm going to play something a lot less terrifying now. The Star Wars Galaxies Emulator has come a long way. Maybe i'll get back into that. Yes i'll do that. Much less horrific.

Well, I don't know if I really have a problem with it's just that I don't support endless-no-plot-monthly-money-holes is all :|

I do have a friend who has done half-hearted attempts of recruiting me, and I've seen him play and I have seen a ton of game-footage, and still I feel no intrest towards the game. Also I really don't care about trying to min-max or balance a charecters equipment and stats and pay for the privlage of showing off with it. Now, I mean no offence, and I do understand the joy of online gaming (DoD and CS as my example) and of tinkering with ever cooler/prettier/powerful items/equipment/bling, but personally I do not find it interesting. I tolarate the tinkering, but eventually I always get fed up with it and just go "whatever, you, have this, that goes to her and the rest of this junk goes to the next merchant I find".

Simply put, I'm a single-player type (Oblivion, ME1&2, NWN1&2, The Witcher, DA:O...), and prefer a good pre-determined story (with possibility to change accoarding to the players descisions), rather then just doing all that other stuff.

Forgive me my rambling, but you did ask for it :pop:

Was it better than the first one? I remember renting it and getting bored half way through feeling like it was the same old thing around each corner.
