I really hope GT5 is as good as it should be after 10 years of development. I'm a sucker for driving games and i really want it to be amazing. Hopefully it will be good enough to warrant me buying a PS3 :)

Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy XIII coming out at around the same time will absolutely kill my social and professional lives.

Until then, I'm playing through Dead Space again.

I just got finished beating and unlocking everything in the NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii game.
For those who don't know, it's an updated side-scrolling Mario game very reminiscent of Super Mario 3 or Super Mario World. The catch is that it incorporates the motion control, and is also up to 4 player Co-op; same screen- same time.

Anyone who is a fan of the Mario franchise needs to check this game out. Especially if you have a friend (or 3) to play it with.

Has anyone played Darwinia? Someone offered me a copy. I rather like strategy games. The retro graphics look fun. Anyone know if it's good?

Thx

Yes, I am a Wowhead. But I also play Assassin's Creed and happen to think that Morrowind was the best game birthed from the mind of men.

I couldn't stand Morrowind. Oblivion was great but I thought Morrowind just lacked. I know; I'm very much in the minority on that one. I'm okay with that.

Quote from: "Whitney"I've been playing Fable II lately.

Does it have a longer story mode then the origianl fable?  The first one was such a waste.  They did all these awesome features and didn't give the story line a chance to develop and use the great features.

I don't know, I didn't play the original.  I'm already at the point where I can go choose to do what I think is the final major quest; so the answer is probably no.  My husband told me that after completing that quest you can go back to doing the freeplay stuff.  They also have released an add on that opens up at least two new regions (maybe more I've just gotten to the 2nd one now) and another that unlocks some other new area (but we didn't buy that package yet).

Oh, and my new gamertag is LAETU5  (that's a five on the end).  I didn't want LaetusAtheos because is see no reason to self identify as atheist when not discussing religion and didn't want to feel compelled to answer questions from theists on xbox live, laetus was taken, and the other names I came up with were either too hard to pronounce, silly, or would end up giving me a stupid nic name people other players shortened it.  My husband is called "muffin" by his friends because his tag had mfn in it.

Oh man, I loved that storyline. If the graphics engine was updated and the story was the same? I'd still be playing it. It might have something to do with Morrowind being my first rpg as well though.

Dragon Age Origins. Heard of that? Of course. If not, you are going to a special level of hell for ignorant gamers :hissyfit:

I've heard of it but don't know anything about it.  Does that mean I go to a lesser level of gamer hell?

I like games where I can buy/decorate houses, have pets, dress up the character etc (which is why I like Fable) yet still run around and do stuff so it's not as boring as SIMs....is this game like that at all?

You will be stuck in gamers limbo despite the pope saying it no longer exists.  Anyway I see Dragon Age Origins advertised everywhere but I haven't played it.  Whitney you might like Final Fantasy XI then.  I played it for forever (I don't know how well it's doing anymore) and you can do the standard quests and everything (kill monsters, defend outposts, attack enemy strong holds, enjoy some weak PVP action) and you can also Decorate your Mog House (its essentially an apartment you own) and depending how you decorate it you will gain certain bonuses like not losing as much experience when you die, better synthing ability when using a certain crystal etc.  I don't know if other MMO's have a system like that.

***EDITED, hopefully quickly enough***

You can also breed Chocobos in FFXI which you can race and call them when you are trying to trek across the maps.  You have to take care of them or they will hate you.

Could never get into FFXI, myself. I'm a FF freak, have been for years, mowed lawns all summer to pick up the first FF on the NES back when it came out (and it was $70 at Toys 'R Us, believe it or not). MMORPGs just don't do it for me, I guess. I prefer the gaming world to halt when I'm not there, not continue on and leave me in the dust.  :D However, I'm very excited about The Secret World, Ragnar Tornquist's (the writer/creator of the Longest Journey series and a goddamn brilliant man) new MMORPG collaboration with FunCom (the company that makes Conan). Yes, Conan is crap but, damn, TSW looks a-maz-ing.
