Some random person thought the Facebook Honesty Box was the proper platform to give Religious Advice. I thought i would share. (my first thread since intro
If it makes you feel better you can continue to pray but i freed myself from religion and false dogma years ago, and that is one of the reasons i am so Happy, YES I  live with happy freedom, freedom from false doctrines encumbering my life, and making me live in guilt and fear.
I grew up in a religious family, so i dont think there is anything in your little sermonette that i havent heard before. Now Im not sure who you are so i cant call you out by name, but since you wanna throw advice out there
Ms. Anonymous, here is my advice to you: Faith does not give you the answers, it just stops you asking the questions. Free yourself from religion and you WILL be alot happier, life without constant fear and built-in guilt instilled and/or brainwashed from a young age is alot HAPPIER!

I always find it amusing that people of the religion that starts with the assumption that you are born a piece of shit (original sin) tell people that religion will set them free.

keith2004

^ Yep, religious people have now idea how much of a prisoner they are or become when they think their religion is setting them free

...And this why I am praying for you.
If you think you are happy now, imagine how happy you will be when you let Christ enthrone in heart.
Someday your job and friends will be GONE... but Christ said he would never leave or forsake you.

My response:
If you think you're happy now, imagine how happy you will be when you're not burdened with the weight of such ancient and dark fairytales keeping you caged in fear and obedience. Imagine loving purely, imagine doing good purely, imagine feeling happy purely; without feeling an obligation to god or gods. Imagine doing good not for some antique fable but simply because doing good makes you happy. That's the ultimate happiness. But I wouldn't expect you to understand, yet. You can pray for me to your heart's content, but know that you're praying for me to be sad, to be lonely even though I'm surrounded by so many others, to be imprisoned by ignorance and motivated by fear. Amen!
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

^ Well Said, i may just have to incorporate some of those things when/if she responds again

Tell that annoying little fuck to piss off.

Oh, wait, nevermind.

The irreligious are happy to be able to think, ask questions, and actually seek answers empirically and rationally. The religious are stuck in a little box that remains the same and always looks the same.

"e-vangelists" are so funny. I like how you turned it around. Let us know how she responds. Eventually, I predict she will get angry.

The only answer to this question is "No. Why is it on your mind? What did you do?"
