Just to make a long story short my 28 year old wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. You can read everything I've written about it up until tolday here:

My wife and I are atheist. And being such is making an already difficult time even harder. I keep hearing Jesus this and Jesus that. And maybe if I had the jesus we would be better off. I am living in the real world searching for real world solutions to my wifes problem.

You may want to think about doing some ad-clicks sort of fundraising instead of just the "donate" section. (Kylyssa is much more knowledgeable about how to make money online than I am. Maybe she could share some insights.) I'll add the blog to my blogroll and you should see some more traffic.

Thank you. I will make a introduction thread eventually. I am not normally good at those types of things. I know it seems kind of odd, a random ass post about something like this but we are about to go through a rough time and I am looking for every thing I can do to get something done.

I have had a site bookmarked in my favorites for years and years called no-god.com and I was looking for places to get post this and I thought. Hmmmm well Christians have thrown me out of their life, lets see what we can get done without god. So that brings me here.

I've been looking around a bit and like this forum. I'll go throw together an introduction post real quick.

I'm sorry to hear that you are being fed the usual "trust in God" and/or "you are in our prayers" that only serve to placate you when it means absolutely nothing.  Hopefully in your physician's you are not finding that and at least have some straight talk there.  One positive thing I can say is that I know many women that have been diagnosed with this and they've all done well and are recovering and two of them have been in remission for several years with no complications.  They all went to Baylor and Baylor has a wonderful women's center now that also specializes in oncology.  I think McQ mentioned your Doc being affiliated with them so that is a terrific plus! While we should be further along in this fight it seems there is a better working knowledge of how to successfully treat it.  All you have to do is maintain your optimism and stay active and vigilant in her care.  I know the believers in your life mean well, and I also know how much it actually makes you feel worse, unfortunately that's all they know how to say because they don't live in the real world and have difficulty helping emotionally.  Try to hang in there, and keep thing clinical with them, maybe they'll get the hint and you won't have to deal with that.  Please feel free to vent, rant, complain, express fear or any other feelings along the way here knowing we'll be here to listen and not make that part more trying.

Thanks. Yeah, her doctor walked in on me and her mom debating and asked what we were discussing and I said "Logic versus Religion' and she said Oh, so which are you going with and replied LOGIC, she gave a a wink like GOOD CALL.

I won't repost my blog here everytime I update, but Ive been keeping it pretty up to date on everything. I'm glad I found a forum like this. Like I said in my last blog I've been a pretty quite atheist.
