Who likes beer?

I am nothing short of a beer geek. I have had somewhere around 75 different kinds of beer thus far. I rarely drink to get drunk, but instead I drink to savor the complex palate of tastes good beer has to offer. My favorite beer is Troegs' Nugget Nectar, an amazing imperial amber ale. I like well hopped beers, but also well balanced beers. I'm not too big on hop-bombs, although I do enjoy the occasional IPA.

I REFUSE to drink cheap beer. I simply wont. They are disgusting and give real beer a bad name.

Wow!  It sound like you have given a lot of thought to this, it reminds me of people that go to wine tastings:)  I love beer but have to say am not as profound regarding what types I like.  I don't like bud beers and HATE Miller Lite or the like.  Being inTexas I prefer the Mexican beers as they are easy to find.  I'd have to say I usually go for the Pacifico or Sol, don't really care for Corona.  That being said I will drink MGD at a bar and it doesn't bother me that it's cheap.  Go beer!

I'm not sure cheap beer necessarily equals bad taste. At least not here.

My current top 5 would be (in no particular order) :

Hoegaarden Grand Cru
Westmalle Double
Rochefort 10°
Ciney brown
Gueuze De Troch

I enjoy a glass of beer.

I live in Wales in the UK so we have a massive choice of both imported and domestic beers. There's lots of nasty tap beer (lagers) - Carling, Stella Artois, Carlsberg - all brewed under license here. Mostly booze-binge stuff. But we're lucky enough to have quite a few microbreweries that produce some decent beers. I do sometimes drink bitters etc but prefer what we call 'lagers'. Cardiff, where I live, has its very own brewery - Brains - which has been around for well over 100 years. Brains has lots of its own pubs (bars) across the City. I still like an occasional pint of Brains 'Dark' (more of a stout) or 'SA', nicknamed 'Skull Attack' by locals.  

I've been to Belgium quite a few times and their beers are varied and generally very good. Not too sure about the fruit-based ones though. Must say I'm very partial to a glass of Leffe Blond or Brun.

Had a great time at the Munich Beer Festival but was a bit worse for wear, so the beers are a bit blurred to be honest.    

Been to the USA five times and tried most of their beers. Most of it I find pretty bland, though I do quite like bottled Michelob. Same goes for most of the Mexican beers. Not terribly keen on Spanish beers (unless I'm no holiday when everything seems to taste better!) but I do like an Italian import, Peroni Gran Reserve.

Lately I've turned my attention to Polish bottled beers (imported rather than brewed under license). These are very reasonably priced and, I find, very 'clean'.

Porter! I love Porter ... bad for the head though! Late Red's good too but yeah I've tried an awful lot of beers but can't for the life of me remember what they were.

I'm a big fan of hefeweizen.  Paulaner makes a great hefeweizen.  Shiner's is okay as is Sam Adams but they can't hold a candle to Paulaner's brew.  Unfortunately, Paulaner is a bit expensive though.  I also have a great love for an ale called Tilburg's Dutch Brown Ale - it's so damned good!  I let my sister try one, she can't stand beer or anything like it and she thought it was good.  It's not really sweet or anything it just has a good full flavor and no harshness, it's very very smooth and doesn't have the aftertaste that you get with most domestics like Budweiser.

Shiner is alright for its price.

Right now, I'm shelling out $11.25 a six pack for Nugget Nectar. I have to drink as much of it as possible before it goes out of season hahaha.

Paulaner is pretty good, but the best hefeweizen in the world is IMHO the Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. The Wiehenstephaner brewery is the oldest existing brewery in the world. Another damn good beer is the Belgium beer Duvel.

When is comes to beer, cost is no deterent.

Love beers and am a little bit of a beer snob. I'd rather drink out of the toilet than drink the major American "beers". I think if you want good beer here you have to find the micro-brews.

I have tried so many it's hard to count. In flight school, my buddies and I found a place with 300 different beers and we went through all of them. Every year for the past 10 years, a bunch of my neighbors get together for a beer cheer party and we buy around 25-30 different cases of beer from around the world and sample them. It's fun. We have found a lot of skunky beers!

My favorite would probably be Chimay Grand Reserve, but it's so expensive I don't get it often.

As seen in another thread I also love my single malt Scotch Whisky.

It's enjoyable to savor all the complex flavorings in these beers and whiskies.
