You basically got swayed by a computer model and a confident voice. This video does not fix any problems present in plate tectonic theory. It does not provide evidence of why expanding Earth theory is more feasible. I honestly don't see what you guys are seeing here.

How is this video at all convincing?

Yall?
You guys?    One guy thought it was interesting. Others showed refutation, with examples. I personally thought it was so laughable as a theory that it didn't merit further study. And you are dead on with your assessment: this goober in the video is swaying people with computer models and a confident voice, although I think he sounds like he's talking to a child, the way he goes about it.

Sorry, I'm just responding to the OP.

But I really liked the comment on what was swaying people in that video. It is something that we forget about a lot when it comes to believing weird things. We tend to go for the more charismatic person than the one with the best information. So I was glad to see you bring it up.

I'm a video game software engineer. I've done a fair amount of graphics programming for video games. With regard to the video showing the continents moving together and fitting like a jigsaw puzzle, that doesn't look like a hard effect to do. If someone modeled a few continents on a globe pretty much as they liked, I'm sure I could come up with an convincing animation that morphed them to fit neatly together while shrinking the planet. A good CG animator could do it too. It would cost them $8000 - $15000 if I was contracting. A CG animator could probably do it in less time and might therefore charge less. Personally, I wouldn't do it if I knew they were promoting pseudoscience. Just because someone can drop a few thousand dollars on some effects doesn't make their theories any more justified. Unfortunately it does make them more convincing. Oh wait, that's how I make a living, aaarrgh!

Does anybody know what these people are gaining by promoting this view? Are they making money somehow? A book maybe? I didn't see any religious agenda?

Yes, the Earth is growing.  The Earth gains about 40,000 metric tons each year from space debris pulled in by gravity.  Link.

He seems to be missing a few fundamentals of science. Like heavy materials sink, rock (pumice aside) sinks in water I would LOVE to see his computer model for why the earth formed with rock on top of water. Or does he go by some Hovindesqe ice sheild therory. Not to mention the water would be at what I would have to assume was an astounding psi being compacted under all that rock. while the Earth does gain a relatively small amount of mass each year, in the 85 million year time span hes talking about the Earth had well over 99.99% of it's current mass already. With little relative variation the earth does not expand or contract apprieciably. The Earth's mass, gravity and out thrust preassure from heat are UNIVERSAL, that means mathmaticly the same EVERYWHERE in the universe what would make the earth so much smaller. I could rant on and on but I won't. This guy is a tool I have only a basic understanding of geo-physics and I can tear this quack therory apart.

You guys know this is creation science right? I was against this arguing about a year ago because I'm studying geology. The thing is that if they can disprove plate tectonics they can disprove evolution. But they have to ignore so much but they claim it to be a conspiracy and that Darwin's theories were quickly accepted by all. It makes sense to them that God one day reached out his finger and touched some place in space and the earth began to grow.

I just remembered these. Yorrike does a good job debunking "expanding earth theory".
