I am puzzled and wondering why America is demanding the world increase spending on their military??
I get that America is aiming for profitable military exports, but is this the sole reason???
Does America know something not yet commonly known that WWIII is imminent?

I base this assumption/outright guess on how THUMP preempted the  Israel attack on Iran.
While I sit and ponder, any opinions to the "for and against" are most welcome

"America" in this case being the chump. He can't grift from other countries like he can grift from the US, so military spending in other countries (i.e., those in NATO) must increase.

Australia is not part of NATO yet we were told we have to increase defense spending, Which our Prime Minister so far has said no way Jose too.
Thumpland is now seen as an unreliable totally erractic ally here
I cannot fathom why Thump wants a cashed up NATO military if he plans to take Greenland by force.
Ahh the working of a socio/psychopath. go figure

you asked what the future was?

somebody, somewhere, is going to blow up an atom bomb, and then the ball will miss the bumper and there is no predicting the consequences.

Just be happy.

We are poisoning ourselves with chemicals in our food, clothing, shelters, water, atmosphere, electronic and nuclear radiation and allopathic medicine (medicine by poison).

The planets are going into alignment effecting the Earth gravitational pull.

Increased Solar activity.

There is a constant threat from Asteroids and it has been suggested the earth is shifting on its axis affecting plate tectonics with unprecedented and unpredictable climate changes.

Perhaps the atomic bomb may be the most humane option??

Largely, it is because defending The West(tm) is bloody expensive, and often a thankless job besides. Those are, of course, not the only significant variables in it. For example, in case of a global war, why should the United States expect and accept any less of Europe than Europe would of The United States? Far too many NATO allies have been punching below their weight class pretty much since World War 2. Yes, they saved a lot of money on military spending that way, but at the cost of being rather on the ineffective side with their modern, expensive but comparatively tiny military forces and supply stockpiles. That was made possible by an overwhelmingly strong US - at American cost.

I think a lot of people, organisations and even nations know things on that scale that others do not.

I'm absolutely for increasing Europe's conventional, and perhaps (though more debatable) even nuclear military capabilities. It's a hostile world out there, where might does indeed make right. It's prudent to be prepared to face it when it comes a-knockin'.
