On Facebook I shared this:

With the following comments:

I agree that our acceptance of science is based in faith however it is different from religious faith ... religious faith is faith without, often in spite of, the evidence.

Faith in science is faith in evidence, the same kind of faith that the sun will rise in the East tomorrow because it always has. It's the same kind of faith that assumes the universe is explicable because it so far has turned out to be and has done so without recourse to deity of any kind. It's based in the same faith that has, to date, demonstrated that any claimed phenomenon can be observed and if so, potentially explained and that the claims that are not, have been demonstrated either to be non-observable or fraudulent. We have faith, the ordinary non-religious kind, in science because science works. We have faith in science because the bridges stay up.

If religions were TV channels atheism is turning the TV off.

Remember, your inability to grasp science is not a valid argument against it.

After many years of human observation, it really is amazing that the species has survived as long as it has.
Truthfully, if the entire universe was as school, and all the planets with intelligent life attended it, Earth would take the short bus to get there.

:sad sigh:
I would probably be the bus driver.

I'll be in the back.

I wonder how No One has compared us to intelligent, alien life forms.
Always question all authorities because the authority you don't question is the most dangerous... except me, never question me.
