As these maps of the Universe appear, I'm always amazed at what they show us. Despite some drawbacks to the modern age, the opportunity to see things like this makes me glad to be around right now.

In an attempt to better understand the nature of the expansion of our universe, scientists have created a 3D map plotting the locations of 1.2 million galaxies. This map may help give astronomers new details about how the universe has been expanding, which will help us learn more about the mysterious force that scientists believe has been driving the expansion.

Published in a new study, the 3D map shows 650 cubic billion light years, which is just a quarter of the known universe. Each point in this map isn't a star: it's an entire galaxy.

My mind cannot grasp this!

I see it, sort of understand it but cannot grasp it.

Seems to me we're not equipped to understand much of this.

Now my own suspicion is that the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose.

You know, this right here is why we need huge advancement in 3D- and holoprojection NOW.  Looking at it within the confines of a 2D-monitor is... Well, just not the same.
