Old School British Burial Now Available

An enterprising fellow has built a long barrow in the English county of Wiltshire, to serve the needs of those with enough money and a desire to be interred in Neolithic style.

The first "Neolithic" long barrow to be built in the UK for 5,500 years has been completed and already the first urn of human ashes has been placed inside.

The structure at All Cannings near Devizes, took almost nine months to build, using traditional materials and stone working techniques.

It was privately financed and cost about £200,000 to build, can hold about 1,000 urns and has now opened officially.

It looks a lot roomier and certainly more well lit than any of the long barrows that I've crawled into.

Well that would be a different sort of place for friends and relatives to come visit after one's death.

As usual I am not sure where this message will appear but hope near start of the long barrow article. It just seems such a great idea to build that not all that far from Stonehenge and Avebury etc and will become historic itself given time. Lovely resting place.
