I came to this forum because it is called "happy atheists". I do not wish to discuss religion. I like to think and I like to discuss the things that I like to think about with other people. I am a stay at home mom and an online college student. I don't get out much which I don't mind, but I would like to meet people that I find stimulating.

Welcome to the forum, Lacey.

We talk about plenty of things other than religion, so you shouldn't have trouble finding a topic thread you want to join.

This is a great little forum.  Enjoy your stay.  :D

Like beer?

I went through a beer drinking phase for about five months when I was seventeen. I drank about a case a day. But, no I don't like beer.

A case a day? At 17? You're kidding, right? I hope.

No, I really did drink that much. Not everyday of course. A lot of days though. I would take the bus to school and then my drinking buddy would pick me up and we would buy a couple twelve packs (one for each of us) and go out to the desert and get drunk. Then when we got bored and ran out of beer we would drive back into town and buy a couple more for the evening round of drinking.

It's strange to be telling that story. I haven't talked about it in years.

I do like beer (probably guess from my avatar) and I enjoy a good buzz, and an occasional drunk, but I have to say moderation is the key to enjoyment.  I like to brew my own - go for quality over quantity.  Mass produced mega-swill beer really isn't that enjoyable.  Try a local brew-pub that makes quality beer - the difference is amazing.  Just don't go drinking a case a day!

Anyway - welcome to the forum - glad to have you onboard!

Hey, Lacy!  Welcome aboard!  :)  I think you'll enjoy it here.  There's a nice variety of people, and almost everyone is mature and respectful.

I used to drink wine, but I'm on a medication now that makes me feel sick if I even take a few sips!  I miss the buzz sometimes, but being healthy is a much higher priority now.  I remember drinking myself SO drunk in college on beer.     Can't stand the taste now.  My hubby is a beer snob - only likes Leffe and other Belgian beers.

Kyle, you do know how to start a conversation.  *big grin*

Welcome to the calm and nicer side of the internet. How many kids do you have, what are you taking online?
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -cs

Usually it is 'I can buy beer and cigarettes.' Haha bad joke between some friends and I.

What does your husband think of Chimay? I think it is totally worth the price, but then, I'm a beer snob too!

I agree,  moderation is the key to enjoyment. I do like to have a drink once in a while. I have a friend that brews her own beer, but she doesn't live near me so I haven't tasted it.

What is a brew-pub? I am guessing it's pub that brews their own beer.
