While watching a show today, one character remarked to someone that their dead cousin would want them to go to school in their home town.  Hmm.  Why do we do that?  "Your grandma would want you to go to college, dear."  "Your dad would want you to keep playing baseball, junior."  "Your dearly departed husband would want you to be happy and find love again, Martha."  HOW DO YOU KNOW!?!?!!?  Maybe he wouldn't want to know that Martha has her legs pinned behind her ears giving some other guy the wildest fantasies she never gave him while he was alive!  Maybe dad discovered a dark secret about baseball just before his death!  Maybe grandma hated the very idea of college since she dropped out of school in the 8th grade to take care of her dad and 6 siblings after her mother died!  We don't know because they aren't here to tell us.  It just bugs me we assign thoughts, feelings, and even political and religious positions on people who aren't around to defend themselves.

BTW... I'm really bored today so this thread is awesome.

Do people not read. Every time I send something for production, to workmen, or artworkers I receive loads of questions and they are always very very clearly labeled in the plans, always getting the same reply "oh yeah so they are, I didn't have a proper look". Pains in my arse.

You could probably write in very large red letters that more questions asked would result in less pay. ;) That might do the trick.

That would be fantastic but you also don't want them to be scared of asking questions as its a crap load worse if they go and do what they want instead.

Ok, so probably reword it to something like: before asking a question, please check if it's already been answered here. Asking questions that have already been answered here will result in less pay, since time is money and you waste my time. ;D

That would make a perfect email disclaimer.

So I was watching the documentary film the "Six Million Dollar Conman" last night about the fraudster Christian Gerhartsreiter, in one point during the program/film a gentleman said something along the lines of "ya know he wouldn't use a name like Smith, he would use a name like Chichester, to sound anglophied". What the fudge! you cant get more British than a Smith.

OMFG I can't believe that I got a question which I knew the answer to wrong. Could've been a pivotal one and the difference between definitely flunking this semester or getting one more chance in a second test to up my average. Feeling a bit tired here. :(

OMFSM - it's so annoying when you do that!  Hope it didn't make the crucial difference. :fingers_crossed:

I don't think his Holy Noodleness would like that very much, but I shall make a clay pot in your honor, Asmo. ;D

I love to read.  Somebody once told me that reading made me "gay." I told her that I would much rather be gay than a dumbshit.
