When one sleeps on the floor one need not worry about falling out of bed - Anton LaVey

The universe is a cold, uncaring void. The key to happiness isn't a search for meaning, it's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually you'll be dead!

Since I won't be able to see this from the eastern US, I'll just close my eyes for a few minutes to simulate the effect.  ;D

Looking forward to the next Total Solar Eclipse. Those are really fun.

What about a total eclipse of the heart?
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

Have you even seen one? I wish I could.

The eclipse in 2017 is going to be fantastic. It's in August, so it's bound to be clear weather and the center of the path of totality crosses right over the town I work in. If I'm at work, I will have to step outside and I'll be able to see it. I found a site that traces the exact path and the EXACT center of the path is about two blocks north of my work.

I can't wait. I will stop production and make my whole crew come outside to watch the once in a lifetime event.

When the alien invasion does indeed happen, if everyone would just go out into the streets & inexpertly play the flute, they'll just go. -@UncleDynamite

It's The Asmo's b-day fireworks, that. The celestial bodies screwed up though, damn them.

Wiggum:"You have that much faith in me, Homer?"
Homer:"No! Faith is what you have in things that don't exist. Your awesomeness is real."

"I was thinking that perhaps this thing called God does not exist. Because He cannot save any one of us. No matter how we pray, He doesn't mend our wounds.

I've seen two and they are amazing. There is nothing like them. Hard to describe.

We had one in the UK about 10 years ago, but it was so cloudy that all we saw was increasing darkness which then cleared.

Ali

We saw it!!!!  Hubby got some special eclipse viewing glasses from the science teachers at his school, and we periodically stepped out to check on it's progress.  Was cloudy for a bit and I was scared we would miss it, but eventually it cleared up enough.  Was REALLY cool!
