Girl Dancing In Orbit

Hello every one !

I'm a 26 years old French speaking girl from Montréal Québec.

Bare with me, my English sucks... But it's getting better. :)

I have a passion for art & science in general.

That's about it... Ask me if you want to know more.

Welcome! What brings you here?
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -cs

Okay, I'm game.

Do you like hockey?

Are you an atheist or a theist or an agnostic or what?

How does one dance in orbit, and in which orbit are you dancing?

If tin whistles are made out of tin, what do they make foghorns out of?

I am a Canadian but I despise hockey... yeah I know this is a deadly sin.

I am an atheist.

How does one dance in orbit ? Easy... Just dance. Even though we are stuck on earth surface, we are still in orbit around the sun. ;)

What is a foghorn ?  :?:

No sin committed.  I was just curious.  My dad is from Manitoba (so I'm half Canadian?) and both he and I love hockey.

Good answer!

Haha - I was just screwing around.  This was a lyric from some old song.  Fog horns are the horns that sound on ships (or on navigation aids) during fog --- so if you hear a horn in the fog (while you can't see) you know you're getting close to possible danger.  They're probably made out of a variety of substances, but this was just a silly question of humorous intent.

I am one of the only atheist I know. My friends are either agnostics, deists or catholics.

Although I like to argue with them, sometimes it's nice to talk to people that will actually agree with me.

one thing being an atheist makes me realise is that we all dance together upon this tiny spinning orb, regardless of all the things we try to use to seperate us,whether it be language, race,or that mass hallucination called religion...we are the ever evolving aspiration for existance...we are the tiny beating heart of a cold and empty universe.so please forgive me for not speaking french,it is such a beautiful sounding language, and the depth of french culture is a wonder to behold...
Please tell me about Montreal, all I know is that it is on an island, and that it has a university where Rutherford did research...what do you mean by a passion for science?do you have any favourite works of art?Just read your poems...very inspiring...and the images that you have chosen are food for thought...your other blog is interesting also...
                                                               when I embrace the earth
it will not know my race
                                                                my name or my gender
                                                                but only the ancient atoms
                                                                that once sung amongst
                                                                the stars...

"How did I become an atheist?"

I became an atheist mostly because of one of my uncles and my of father. My mom was this catholic freak forcing us to church and everything while my dad was a soft agnostic that followed my mother just to make her feel happy. I first doubted all of it when I was 9 or 10 when a priest couldn't give me a satisfying answer to something I asked him, I don't remember what it was though lol.

As for science, I love to learn about the world, and science is about the only thing that actually tries to learn things about the world to... So we are a good match, although I am not a scientist of any kind.

I have just read your other blog, the one that talks about scientology,I like your energetic use of english,it is like some stream of conciousness explosion...
when I was 18 way way back in 1973 I had a very close friend called Gay,this being short for Gabrielle, she went to an all girls catholic school and then studied to become a teacher, she described herself as a Radical Lesbian Feminist. She made me aware of just how difficult it is to step outside of the male conditioning that I have been subjected to.One thing she also made me realise is that a single X or Y chromosme is not worth all the hype and pain men and women put up with in order to exagerate their differences.Perhaps one of the main objectives of religion is to make women more compliant.Perhaps your Mother once had just as many questions as you...it is sad to think of how many young minds become closed and stifled by religion. Are your parents able to accept your choice of lifestyle? Is Canada a very tolerant society?

Hi thanks for reading my things and complimenting my english.... It's really not my main language  ;)

I just wrote something about rael just now... but anyways...

To answer your question, I won't talk about the rest of Canada since I've never been there, but here, in Québec, yes it is a very open society and over all it is pretty much accepting gay ppl. Being an atheist is pretty easy to since religion have been destroyed in the "quiet revolution" that we had a few decades ago along with the empowerment of women. But I was personally brought up by a Jesus freak mother who now refuses to talk to me. But I'm very close to my dad and brother that loves me like I love them.
