I don't need one. Scary enough in my unadorned state.
Mike Litorus. Maybe Hugh Jass.
Last year on Halloween night police arrested two kids. One was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off.
I haven't been able to decide yet. But I did dress my house up.

:tellmemore: Is that a prop in the window?
In the small kitchen window, there is a light, and in the big window there are some blood splatters.
We also put up spider webs the next day, but I didn't take a picture of it.
I don't dress up, like Hermes I feel it would be redundant. I've also never dressed up a cat since I've never met one who'd put up with such a thing and really don't know how the people who post pics on FB manage it. I used to dress up my home, but then a year or so ago I found all my decorations were attacked by rot (I guess even ornamental gourds and corn only live so long) and I haven't replaced them.
I think this year I'll go minimalist and just carve a jack o'lantern for the window. Then I can also have toasted pumpkin seeds and try to make pie from the gourd once it's finished in the window.

I'm just looking forward to handing out candy to the little kids and the surly teens. That's my favorite part of Halloween. That and the scary movies.

Halloween isn't a big thing in Brazil
yet, but it's growing. A few years ago some trick-or-treaters knocked on our door asking for candy but we didn't expect to have any kids come knocking and were unprepared. Poor kids, they were very disappointed and we felt bad we didn't have candy to give.

Every Halloween, I sit outside my door, pass out candy to the children, and listen to Metallica. For hours.

I remember the virtual meetups from back in the day. That was a looong time ago though.
Man I miss those. I'd be so down to start them up again

...Plus, I was there and that tends to put a damper on things...
Oh come on, JJ! I'm sure you are great to hang around at parties! :smilenod:
When you don't drink or smoke pot and are a naturally quiet person it makes people nervous, I think.
Not everybody. ;D
I'm the same, don't smoke, don't drink, and if the others talk a lot I prefer to listen.
If only we could hang out sometime.
 I wonder though, who would do the talking? :blahblah:
;)
Leave that to Mags...
That's a great idea, I love listening to what Mags has to say!

Sure. Why not.
All for one and one for all!

Trippin' on my silliness.

Well do it! You're not a sproutling any more.
Once I get a free weekend I will certainly get on that
We are technically not supposed to dress up for Halloween at the bank, but I'm staying festive with black lipstick and tights with cats on them
I'll be sitting outside tonight, even though it will be in the 30's F. I'll have $100 of candy and a flask of whiskey to keep me company, along with my I-Phone to play creepy music. It's an annual ritual.
We only got one (one!) trick-or-treater this year. :'(
I had foot surgery a couple of weeks ago, and am still recovering, so I got to enjoy Halloween in my bed. Oh well, I don't really celebrate Halloween anyway. My only complaint was how nice and chilly the weather has been lately and how I haven't been able to be outside to enjoy it.
A whole mob, about 20, of little curtain climbers showed up at my door. The were from four to six Years old I estimated,. They were cleverly costumed, cute as hell, polite, and well behaved. A credit to the parents I reckon. After that no one else showed up. At least I got rid of some, not all, of the goodies that I had bought for the ocassion.
