Doesn't take much for Americans to lose their mind. NBC leaves out under God and everyone is "deeply upset".

Still don't know why NBC did it. I just wish they wouldn't apologize.

If some of the god-bothering patriots who have howled in indignation over the omission by NBC knew more about the history of the pledge, they might demand that it be abolished entirely.  It was written by a socialist, after all.  Then again, I suppose I'm being silly. People, no matter what their political stance, are rarely fully consistent.

A socialist Baptist minister.  If you think about it, shouldn't all Christian preachers be socialist or communist.  According to the Bible, the way Jesus and the disciples were living was very similar to communal living.

From the video it seems to me that they never intended to use the entire pledge and were just using clips as part of a video montage.  It just so happens that the parts that got cut out were under god and indivisible; the least important parts that normal people wouldn't throw fits over.

They used the original version. Instead of apologizing, they should have used this as a teaching moment. The Cold War is over, so we don't need this silly anti-Communist, pro-Jesus propaganda anymore. The original pledge is just fine.
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

Oh, rabble, rabble!

So lame they felt the need to apologize. For what? Seriously...

I remember the kid in grade school that was under fire because he didn't want to say "under  God." He was like 8 or something....

It's because people give in so easily to these religious nuts -- that we still have out dated susperstitions controlling our lives. I applaud anyone who raises children with the tryth, and not these arcaic beliefs/myths.
