I'm not going to tell you what I scored but I may well not be around as much as usual!

It seems I'm not addicted to the internet.  Must try harder. (score 33).

ETA: Now that the site is back up, my score was 13.

Back in the late 90's, my score would have been over 60...*laffin*
The essence of the mind is not in what it thinks, but how it thinks. Faith is the surrender of our mind; of reason and our skepticism to put all our trust or faith in someone or something that has no good evidence of itself. That is a sinister thing to me. Of all the supposed virtues, faith is not.

I got a 32...and it would probably be even lower if the internet weren't the most accessible thing I have to do when I don't feel like being productive.

I don't get on the internet much, if at all, when I go on vacation or visit family...sometimes I don't even feel the need to hurry and log in just because I got a spam post report.  I know everything will still be there when I get back around to it.  I also like having separation from technology when possible too..including not checking my phone (even more so now that it is internet enabled and has constant email notifications).

I got 36. Meh I'm happy with that. I would love one of my best friends to take this. She would definitely be up in the 80s.
Majority of her friends are people she's met online (only reason we're friends is because I know her from school), she almost ALWAYS turns down going out because she's preoccupied online - either talking to her boyfriend which she calls 'spending time with him' or she has a scheduled quest on World of Warcraft. She transferred from university in Aberystwyth back to Swansea so she could commute because her internet speed is far better at home.
She tries to argue that playing WoW is her 'hobby' just like mine is surfing. I argue that surfing does not affect my life in a negative way: unlike her I can actually socialise with people in face-to-face situations, I'm keeping fit and I don't prioritise it over other areas of my life. I asked her a few weeks ago if she wanted to come to the beach with me - her response was 'nah I'm going to sunbathe in my garden' which I know is code for 'I'm going to sunbathe in my garden so I can play WoW'. What's more is she lives with her Mum and I don't understand how she thinks her daughter's lifestyle is healthy. I think she's more preoccupied with her new boyfriend (who's not actually that new any more).

I've tried talking to my friend about it, but as with any addiction I think the person has to really want to change before they will do anything about it. I think it'll get to the stage where she's 30 odd and still living with her parents before she realises she's wasted her life on a machine where depiction of reality is nothing more than a compilation of tiny coloured pixels. Hopefully it won't be that long.

'Congratulations, your score is: 32'

I do spend a lot of time online, but it doesn't interfere with other things too often.
