My desk is a mess so I won't take a picture of my entire setup, just of Lizzie here, chilling on my monitor.

Is that a real lizard? Looks cool, anyway.

:secrets1: Only late at night, when the lights go out, do the toys come alive.

Just left the scene of a bad motorcycle accident. She pulled out in front of me followed by someone in a jeep and by the time I came around the next turn she was already on the asphalt,  badly injured. Someone in a Hyundai had pulled out in front of her. I called 911 for them and waited until she was flown away and they cleared the road. I felt so helpless.

You did good, JJ. I don't think there's much else you can do in that situation other than to call for an ambulance.

It was just a bad day, and I'm a belt and suspenders kind of guy. Skills and supplies.

Shit, that's horrible. I hope she comes out of it OK. I quit riding my motorcycle and sold it in '72 because of this kind of stuff, and gave up riding my bicycle on public streets after some close calls and one strike (which only got my handlebar, about 1/2" from my fingers), a hit and run. Done.

Good man. Good job. Did the best you could.

Absolutely.  Many people would have done far less, or nothing at all.  If she was conscious at all, even just going in and out, it would have been a huge comfort to have another human being staying by her.

I just went for a long walk with my headphones on, listening to music. I walked until my phone died and then I kept right on walking. I feel pretty good right now.
