Last week I went to an Evangelical church, and they told the kids during the children's lesson that Ebenezer Scrooge found Jesus at the end of A Christmas Carol.  Is that a valid interpretation of the story?  Check out my blog about it:

Are you going to be participating at HAF or just posting links to your blog?

At the end of the story, scrooge "became nice" because he was terrified of his future. In my opinion, he didnt "become good" because he actualy started caring for others. So, yeah... sounds like religion there.
God made me an atheist, who are you to question his wisdom!

Well I'm pretty new to this thing, so I haven't participated much yet, but I read it a lot.  I get your point.

This is funny--and I think you're right!

If you watch A Christmas Carol backwards, it's a heart-warming tale of capitalism.
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

Scrooge must go broke pretty quickly after becoming "nice".

My favorite version of A Christmas Carol stars Michael Caine and Gonzo:

Quote from: "Charles Dickins"He had no further intercourse with Spirits, but lived upon the Total Abstinence Principle, ever afterward; and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!
-- Closing paragraph of A Christmas Carol
So in summary, thanks to the efforts of Tiny Tim, everyone found Jesus and lived happily ever after. It's also a relief to learn that Scrooge stopped having intercourse with Spirits.
