Well the judgement thing does not sound very logical (well, in fact it doesn't even sound physically possible) to me but... accepting it as a posibility, just think that hey! you are screwed already, you are dead! what else could happen to you, if you haven't really too much to lose - actually, you have nothing to lose - ... ok judge me...

my question is simple do u believe there’s a judgment day and a life after death ?
for me i see there must be judgment day or i’ll be pissed of so much coz jerks can get away with their stupid Action
for the second thing after life issue  it freaks me out that i’ll live just few years and then i’ll become just like dust nothing more nothing else .where all the hard work i did in my entire life would go ?!!!!  :brick:

I believe exactly this viewpoint makes it easier for people to accept notions of a Judgement Day where some higher force will right all wrongs and suchlike. I know that Muhammad preached this as a part of Islâm, because most of the ‘Arabs around him didn’t really belief in an afterlife.

I think that such a notion can make people complacent and apathetic. Why fight against odds when god will make everything right in the afterlife? Even when I used to follow religion I had problems with this whole judgement day scenario. Now I dismiss it purely as wishful thinking. If you want to right wrongs done to you in your life then you need to do it right now in this life or your regrets will eat you alive.

In this sense I view atheism as a form of growing up and having to take responsibility for your own life.

I find the idea of a god being interested, and involved in petty human quibbles to be increasingly hard to believe, so I do not think that there is any kind of "judgment".

I don't. Any specific conception I created would be pulled from my imagination. I don't consider that a valid epistemological method in this context.

I'd have to know what the afterlife was like to make an informed decision. I wouldn't want to make an uninformed decision about something that would dictate my existential circumstances for all of eternity. To quote Woody Allen: eternity is a long time, especially towards the end.

As for judgment day: If the religuos zealots are right and only they will live in heaven because they have followed all of the bibles "so called" commandments, why would you want to be there? It sure wont be much fun will it with me when we get through stoking the fires.
