In Asmo's grey lump,
wrath and dark clouds gather force.
Luxembourg trembles.

Pink Martini, and Couperin...
"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"
Epicurus [341-270 B.C.E.]

"And do you think that unto such as you,
A maggot-minded, starved, fanatic crew,
God gave the Secret, and denied it me?-
Well, well, what matters it! believe that too."
Rubaiyat, R. Le Gallienne, transl.

I would be pressed to find anything other than music that can drive away feelings of depression and despair. Strangely it is the more melancholy songs that can accomplish that for me.

Socorro's thinks most of the music I listen to frequently is sad, or as she calls it, depressing, but I beg to differ.

Is there anything else in the world that can match our emotions as closely as music?

No, I don't think there's anything else.

"I've had several "spiritual" or numinous experiences over the years, but never felt that they were the product of anything but the workings of my own mind in reaction to the universe." ~Recusant

Poetry, but I may be redundant.

Music is audio art and art is pure human expression of emotions.

I'm so confused it is everything I hate about music but I liked it. I kinda feel like I watched some weird porn and it turned me on.
