I sat and watched for a few hours. I have to say that the protestors were a lot less violent than they could have been. 4 people have died which is a tragedy. The vast majority looked like a bunch of tourists wandering around a museum.

Apparently while 1 person was shot 3 have died from 'medical emergencies'.

There was something in the news showing how other countries reacted. Looking at it from their point of view it would seem that we are losing our democracy. Let's hope our new government leaders can rectify that. I mean, we look like a banana republic for Bob's sake!

People protest being killed by the police and get met with tear gas, shot with rubber bullets, maimed, and killed by the police.

This bunch of people storm the Capital building and the cops escort them in.

In the least, we know that the police can refrain from escalating by not committing war crimes and murdering protesters.

Seeing the traitor flag being paraded through the US building was a disturbing sight. They lost the civil war and the election and will not accept either.

This was encouraged and supported by the soon to be former president and his people and children. The treasonous fuckers need to be sorted.

And now these republican fucking embarrassments are objecting without cause making the process take longer. This is not process is not a time for fact finding or investigation, that time came and went and nothing was found. This process is supposed to only be congress accepting the votes. But they are dragging this out. Like after the civil war, these seditious officials need to be removed from office.

A few months back I never imagined that democracy in the US would be under threat -- it looked like a nation with strong institutions that would never let a nutcase president have free reign, but now I'm not so sure. Little seems to have been done throughout his time in government to curb his insanity.

In Brazil, for instance, the fact that we have had a military dictatorship in our recent past has created a system of checks and balances. So far, the Congress and Supreme Court can veto the president, and have done so on many occasions. They can, of course, be corrupted but so far the system seems to be working.

The US shouldn't have to go through a dictatorship in order to create a better system to keep insane presidents in check. Hopefully the current cuckoohead will bring about change in the US constitution so that future 'Trumps' don't have that much power.
