Those that would intentionally harm children, are the lowest form of scum there is!
Yes, they make me fairly grumpy. Actually I think they ought to be castrated. Maybe it would make the money not quite as worth it.
The problem is that in many countries where this is big business, the government doesn't seem to be as effective or as vigilant as they could be. And our world is so small these days, so they might as well be next door. I hate these people and this practice.

Even in Britain, in very recent times, gangs of child abusers have been effectively ignored because they involved Asians and other immigrant men. The police and local authorities were playing the PC card, afraid of bring accused of breng racist if they pushed too hard. Even girls well under the sge if consent were recorded as being willing victims, effectively as prostitutes, turned away seversl times.

I would sack the officers and council staff as well, they are evidently incapable of serving a civic function.

One hard disc I took to the police, because it contained child pornography. I only played one video for just a few seconds and it made me feel sick. Hopefully they catch those bastards, who made these videos (most of them seem to originate from eastern Europe). My opinion about my brother has changed dramatically for the worse.
Oh man. Did you have to tell your sister-in-law about it? Can only imagine how hard that must be. Either way, that's so disturbing, and you did the right thing.

I had an MRI scan yesterday.  Four and a half hours at the hospital, including 1¼ in the actual machine.  Still, I mustn't moan - I got the necessary scan free and the staff were lovely, so the legendary delays of our health service are a small price to pay.

I discussed it with my brothers, my wife and the friend, who got the hard discs. We decided not to inform my sister-in-law, because she hasn't overcome the death of my brother and we didn't want to hurt her even more. This story should (of course) also never leave HAF. My wife would probably "kill" me ::)

From my interactions with other members of HAF it seems that we are a pretty ethical, close-knit community. If anyone shares anything and requests that it remain within HAF, I am confident that the request will be respected.

Sorry to hear about this Tom, as I can't imagine the struggle you'll go through in order to come to terms with this if that's actually possible. Especially when dealing with a personal revelation on this scale about someone who was close to you your entire life. Even more difficult I imagine once they have departed, and you can't confront them about it.

Also, I agree with the others, we are a somewhat close-knit bunch here, especially those of us who are active on the forum, can't see anyone not respecting your request to keep this "news" here, but we do seem to have a lot of visitors who don't sign in, so maybe the prudent thing to do would be to delete the original post and all other references to it?

May not be necessary, but would be a quick and simple fix to do so. Relieve any anxiety you may have over disclosing in the first place, I mean it is a public forum. Just a thought.

Good luck.

Seconded.

And I hope the scan found nothing untoward?

Thirded. Somehow missed this earlier.

Kidney stone still not out. Actually haven't been in too much pain, but we had to cancel our trip to see family in NY because I didn't want to get stuck down there if it did get worse. Though it turns out that may have been fortuitous.

Yesterday, Firechicklet (who's now ten months old) wasn't eating or drinking much and spit her milk up a couple of times, but otherwise seemed happy and energetic. Being a nice day out, we decided to take her to the nearby zoo to distract her for an hour or two. Worked well, she got sleepy, and we began the fifteen minute drive home. Right around minute 12, she had explosive diarrhea. Like EXPLOSIVE. She was literally sitting in a pool of her own crap in the car seat. We rushed home and spent the next couple of hours cleaning her off and getting her to sleep while also hosing off the infant seat cushion. Amazingly, none of it got onto the actual back seat of the car.
Imagine that had happened halfway between Boston and New York?
For good measure, she puked on me later that night. None of this grosses me out, and I now get to check off this parental milestone. Mostly sucks to see how miserable she's feeling.

That seems like a lousy experience. I've never been in an MRI myself, but I hear it can be quite anxiogenic. It must be so cool to see images of your own brain though!

Tom, your judgement about telling the sister in law is sound and the decent thing to Not do.  What is past is past.... You cannot un-ring a bell.   To be sure I join the rest of us to take your revelations as a matter of strict confidence.........In fact I have completely forgotten what you posted.  Whatever it was, put that unpleasantry behind you.

I have a rotten tooth. The pain has been there for a week but it felt like pressure from another wisdom tooth coming in. This morning I finally shined a light in my mouth and there was a big Brown spot on one of my molars. No swelling or particular pain while chewing so far.

I couldn't get any pliers back there and still be able to see so I made an appointment with a dentist. First time in my life.
