Malware Bytes, which is currently still installed now that I look

McAfee Internet Security, which I'm not sure if it's still installed or not, but doesn't show up in the start menu

Kaspersky, also not sure if still on my computer and not showing up in Start Menu

And the first one, I don't remember. But it's definitely not on my computer.

MIS, at least, does come with a firewall. I don't remember if they bundle it in a common package, such that when you uninstall one part, it kills all, but worth checking.

In any case, look at your programs folder and see if you can spot any security program related folders. Then open them and see if there is "enough stuff" there to run something or other (Typically 10+ files and folders)

I don't think Malware Bytes can cause the update to fail, but it IS possible that Windows Defender will not let itself be installed/updater/ran with it running.

iYogi should not be a problem (Said a guy who barely knows what iYogi is. Some sort of remote support system, no?)

MalwareBytes can be. You could try to disable it, then running Microsoft Windows Defender again. Keep in mnind though, if you disable your firewall, then... Well, you have no firewall. Usually, it's harmless, but lay off the porn sites and torrents and such until you re-enable it or install another.

Alright I'll do that. But I just found a Kaspersky folder that's not in the Program Folder, it's on the C Drive. It has 5 folders and 2 text documents.

So I've tried to open malware byes to which I get the administrator prompt asking if it's ok to get the program, then nothing. I'm not sure if there is another way to disable it?

And iYogi, your guess is as good as mine. My Dad put so much shit on here.

EDIT: Would it be ok if I uninstalled Malware Bytes? I don't really much like the programs my Dad gets, which is why I kept uninstalling them.

Oh, certainly! Kill it with fire :-)

As long as you are conscious about what email attachments you open and what you download, you'll be ok.

That also didn't work. Malwarebytes won't uninstall, and also gives me an error code.

Do you have admin rights on your PC?

Because your PC does seem to need some light servicing. I could do a TeamViewer session with you when we both have time, if you are interested, towards that goal.

(TeamViewer is a tool that allows a person to see the screen of and control a PC remotely. Being a serious operator, I will, of course, provide you with my standard privacy protection declaration)

Yes I do and I have time sometime Monday if that works for you. I know we live in different time zones and all.

20:00 and 06:00, actually  ;) I get off work at 19:00, so 20:00 works for me. I'll log onto HAF and PM you when ready. Should be pretty on-time.  ;)

Stoopido!

I tried to sign into my Samsung account. Password did not work (not sure if same account applies to every device). Tap "forgotten password".

Email sent with link. Go to site, told to change something in settings before changing password. Requires password to do the change.

I HAVE FORGOTTEN MY FRIGGIN PASSWORD, THAT IS WHY I WANT TO FRIGGIN CHANGE IT.

Do the twats that write this stuff actually think?
