Guess what I learned yesterday, a roaster can f--k a hen to death.  My beautiful egg laying hen is dead and that bastard roaster has the tell-tale sign of his breast and neck being peck to shreds.  My gal took one look at the aftermath and simple stated that he had f--ked the hen to death.  Having never heard of this before in any other way than a joke, I gave her the don't be a smart ass look.  She stated that she wasn't joking and that with over active roasters and too few hens it can happen.  One good thing about it happening to my chicken is that if it had happened to a friend of mine I wouldn't have been able not to laugh at the situation, and once again my insensitivity would have pissed someone off.  (Who am I kidding, I don't have friends I'd be standing around with.)

That was my bad news, the dead date raped chicken.  I don't think I'm going to be able to tell the horny roaster joke ever again, damn.  It was one of my favorites.

The good news is only partly good.  The chicken I about killed is going to make it.  Yes Ms. Ali we have given her a nick name, "Stomp Head".  The nickname I came up with was something my gal didn't want me yelling in ear-shot of the neighbors and the one she came up with wouldn't role off my tongue without giving me a sugar rush, so we compromised and have just named her what we've been referring to her as, the stomped head chick.
The reason that it's only partly good news is that she isn't all there mentally anymore.  Do any of you have a member of your family, due to accident or illness, that has changed in the personality dept.  Almost like they received a natural lobotomy.  That's how Stomp Head is; she eats and drinks, but it's obvious that shes just not sure about much of anything else.  She stands around with her head stooped down instead of held high looking for bugs to eat.  I'm sure that she'll end up sleeping in the mud-room; I don't think I'd be nice to the roaster if he hurt Stomp Head.

I need to work on my Spanish, y'all have a good day.

Date raped chickens. That's sad :( There used to be a duck pond near my university and the male ducks used to gang rape the female ducks. Kind of disturbing.
Damn nature. You scary.

Glad ol' Stomp Head is doing okay, though.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

Poor chicken.  :(  I never knew that roosters would do that.   :(

I am happy to hear that Stomp Head is (marginally) okay.  We used to have a Great Dane that was dumb as a box of rocks.  If you looked in his right eye, he had a big splotch that was missing color, and I always thought that whatever happened to his eye also affected his brain.  But he was sweet though.  My mom used to say that what he lacked in intelligence, he made up for in good looks and charm.  Maybe Stomp Head will do the same.  :)

You have my sympathies. I shouldn't be a grammar/spelling Nazi really as it's awfully hypocritical on my part. Would you believe I spent 8 years writing technical catalogue copy for products. The writing bit was purgatory!

If you roast a rooster it becomes de facto a roaster.  Tasty and much less noisy in the mornings.
