Stone tools 'change migration story'

QuoteA research team reports new findings of stone age tools that suggest humans came "out of Africa" by land earlier than has been thought.

Geneticists estimate that migration from Africa to South-East Asia and Australia took place as recently as 60,000 years ago.

But Dr Michael Petraglia, of Oxford University, and colleagues say stone artefacts found in the Arabian Peninsula and India point to an exodus starting about 70,000 to 80,000 years ago - and perhaps even earlier...

Kool. This subject is one of my hobbies. I'm a bit more interested in how the americas were colonized. Berring straight, polynesian/asian seafarers, people crossing near iceland during a small iceage. Theres even a bit of evidence to suggest contact between the old and new world civilizations before columbus and before the norse expeditions.

Are you at all interested in ancient history? I have a good book on everything from the dawn of kingdoms to the dark ages. I'll find the name for you if you're interested.

Found a link. Its called "History of the Ancient world." Written by Susan Wise Bauer. I found it interesting and very detailed(But not in a boring textbook way.). She gets a little artsy with the bits that aren't 100 percent knowable but still a good read. For example she'll often go into a narrative about the assassination of a leader and his usurpers the details of which she cannot know for certain. But the big picture of what happened isn't altered.
