You may be right, but the alternative is pretty uncomfortable, I assure you.

the only thing thatgives me relief from the comedic tragedy of american politics is looking at 6you guys trying to deal with brexit.

whats the plan?

No idea.

Not as bad as the naysayers expected not as good as enthusiasts said. Frankley Covid took the headlines and there was a definite 'don't blame Brexit' for anything and everything that was going wrong.Basically trying trying to stop the panic mongers on both sides getting the dominant voice.

Quotedid it do what it was supposed to do?

Difficult to tell as we didn't really have any specific aims/actions to meet so we can't tell if we met them or missed them.

Quoteare you better off?

Variable. Small businesses that had a large fraction of their business in the EU either importing and/or exporting have been well and truly fucked.

New broom, Stamer, is doing a passable job of mending fences. There is a lot going on in Europe at the moment with extreme right wing agendas and frankly I'm pleased we are not taking part in that as a country.

theres a silver lining there, for sure.

its odd, you know. america is always at the forefront of armaments dealing and covert overthrow of foreign democracies and meddling in other peoples politics. but when it comes to  actually initiating a singular huge mess that risks enveloping the world in flames, its always the europeans. leaving out imperial japan for the moment.

from damn silly things in the balkans to deutschland uber alles to putins attempts to re-create the USSR, it always seems to be the europeans that are their own worst enemies.

this is odd to me, because socially the europeans are absolutely light years ahead of us here in the states with respect to devising governments that take care of their citizens. its just they cant get along with each other.

whats up with that?
