Hello, everyone! I was attracted to this forum because the name is also my name. Explanation: I belong to an online community called Gather.com. I have a group within Gather called (pause for effect) "The Happy Atheist". I thought, "what a co-inkydink - perhaps this is destiny...mmm, naw! I've done a lot of talking in groups concerning religion and science and stuff, and I feel able to express my philosophy adequately to be understood in English.
I am a piano player from Buffalo, New York. Buffalo is known as "the city of good neighbors", and "the queen city of the great lakes". But I think it was back in the '80's that another nickname was created by a local artist - "the city of no illusions". Hopefully I'll be able to live up to that. You can look for me to be somewhat inconsistent in my visits to HAF, as I am not retired yet. See you in a while.
rickrocks
Welcome, rick and thanks for the introduction! Great to have another HA on HAF. How's the music business in Buffalo currently? Hope the arts weren't crushed there like in so many other cities recently.
Hello and welcome to HAF,
rickrocks. I like the name "City of No Illusions." I look forward to seeing your contributions to our discussions.

Welcome, rickrocks. The first 10 posts are the worst, after that you'll get the brain rot and be just like us.
Um, I don't know whether or to whom I am replying right now. Apologies. I will say thanks for helping to facilitate my first ten messages. I'll get it right sooner or later
Welcome to the forum Rickrocks. You wouldn't be related to Rick Roll, would you? ;)
Hi Rickrocks, and welcome to HAF. What type of music do you play?
Hi, Ali. I'm a swiftly aging rocker, mainly, but I also play classical music and several different blues styles. Basically, I'm taking requests and I'm hard to stump! Do you play an instrument?
Not at all. :D I like to sing, but that's about it. But I am the proud mother of a future musician (I think.) My almost four year old is obsessed with all musical instruments, and my dad is a musician (guitar and drums) and is already teaching him a little bit.
Welcome!
Hello rickrocks
When you're really old you'll have to change your user name to dickwobbles ;)
Welcome to HAF!

It is Greg. :)
You be newbie? You be welcome! ;D
Heya, Rickrocks, glad to meet you. I somehow missed you when you first signed up. I see you've got your first 10 posts, yay!
It's awesome you're a musician. I play a bit of keyboard and guitar (slowly teaching myself both), but I play VERY poorly. I daresay my 4 year old could play as well as I do. :D
Have you ever played somewhere public that was really exciting for you? Like for a larger concert or an event?
Rickrocks, I love your new avatar. ;D It just reminds me of this: (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fth05.deviantart.net%2Ffs70%2F150%2Fi%2F2010%2F345%2Fb%2Fd%2Ffinland_by_dvdsnsam-d34lxya.jpg&hash=29642b4e032d8154ecdd882434ddbecf16e2499c)

It's a pic of meself priming up for a Bills-Jets game at Ralph Wilson Stadium, about 10 years ago.
My buddy came up with it about a year ago, and I thought it captures my usual mood.
Glad you like it. Do you do horses in a big way? Equestrian, bareback or what? Bustin' broncs?

I've tried just about everything. English, western, bareback, driving, big horses, small horses. I have showed quarter horses for a long time, and miniatures for about four years. I am actually selling my jumper to focus on just the minis. :)
So you're from Buffalo!! That's awesome! I live about 100 miles away, but that doesn't keep me from being a Bill's fan! Welcome neighbor !!! :)

Howdy neighbor!
Welcome to the forum.
Rickrocks, that penetrating stare makes me giggle whenever I see it.
Sorry if that isn't quite the effect you intended! ;)
I see I'm a day late and a dollar short as usual, but welcome!

Amicale, I don't give a flying rat's ass what you think of me, on a personal level. I figure that gives us the best chance to be friends. Further, I was tailgating at the time (an activity that Buffalonians do with great expertise), so yeah, there's a lot of humor and playfulness behind this snapshot. If it makes you smile, all the better.

I hope my comment wasn't misinterpreted as a jab, or anything. It was my way of saying I liked the picture, not at all that I was laughing at *you*. :) I saw the humor and playfulness behind the photo, and I liked it! I certainly hope we can be friends here, too!

Absolutely no offense taken, Amicale. That's just me on my word processor. I tend to come across as more gruff than in person. I think it's good that I don't give a flying rat's ass, and I hope you do too, or don't either or something! (uproarious laughter) My sense of humor is often tongue-in-cheek. Please be prepared to not take me totally seriously all the time, for Chrissakes!
Matter of fact, I think the Bills lost that day, thus increasing the irony of my silly Bills fan face!
