I wanted to make post 1,000 something worthwhile, so here goes. :)
First, a huge thank you to the admins/mods here at HAF. I can honestly say I've never been on a board before that had members who got along so well with one another, or where things went so smoothly. I find this place downright refreshing. You folks do an AMAZING job of keeping everything in order, but also making people feel welcomed. When I joined this board, I was so happy to settle in here! Thanks for all you do. You people are great, and I really appreciate you.
To everyone I've met here, so far: I love talking with you folks. The conversations are interesting, I've learned a lot so far, and the cameraderie here is so darned awesome. I haven't gone a SINGLE day here without laughing and having a good time. ;D I love your personalities, your ideas, and the way everyone here interacts. It's so great. I'm really, really happy to consider HAF my 'home board' on the net. It's become a place to crash, unwind, get to know people, and have fun. I just feel like I can be myself with everyone here, and that's truly an awesome thing!
I love HAF, and I'll be so happy to keep on being here for as long as everyone can put up with my goofy insanity! ;D
The Asmo approves of your use of your one thousandth post. 8)
Congratulations on getting to 1,000 posts. It was a great day when you signed up. A forum is the sum of it's members, you have added considerably to the forum, and long may you continue to do so ;D
I haven't interacted a lot with you, so only qualify in the broadest sense, still, you are very welcome, Amicale, in all possible meanings. And congrats on the millenium post.

Or should that be "Mind your tail!", instead, as Amicale is a follower of the Ceiling cat now... ;)
Congrats for the 1000th post, here's hoping you will have at least as much fun during the next ton as with this first! ;D

Yeah, c'mon OG. Git-of-Siz was my most successful assimilation and I want to use it again in celebration.
Meanwhile I shall revert to my 'Amicalcutter' thus... (Sorry Asmo!)
Well done Amicale. Even though your anti-penisism offends me to the... er... nub, your humour always shines through. May you have many more to brighten all our days. X

You seem quite normal to me.
Nicer than normal but I won't hold that against you.

Your eyesight's better than mine! Then again, I'm nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other, so... :P
And the Titanic sure did have four stacks, 3 were smokestacks, and the fourth was a dummy stack, added both for the 'grandeur' factor, and to give the shipbuilders a handy place to store air vents and a fireman's ladder, as well as it being a chimney flue for the smoke to come out of the First class smoking room. Oh, and some deck chair storage close to the base of the 4th one.

Oh, I can believe a hundred years have passed. I see all the documentaries, e-books, print books, magazine coverage etc. The sinking of the Titanic is thoroughly commercialized to the hilt this year. A few years back, I briefly considered writing a book and having it published this month -- and then I realized that it'd be me, and several hundred others taking a crack at the same thing. :D

Yea it is. I've loved the Titanic since I was very little. I would watch every documentary and read everything that I could on it. Never been interested in boats, but this one caught my eye for some reason. I would love to go down in a submarine and see it.

I've always loved boats and ships, but otherwise... Same. I've read every non-fiction book in print that I've been able to find, everything from eyewitness accounts to the legal trials after the sinking to passenger diaries. It's been a lifelong fascination of mine, and I'd give my right arm to go down on a dive expedition and see it.

I can still remember the first time I watched Robert Ballard go down there in that tiny sub. I was blown away.

A HAF spoon sitting in the silt with the Titanic wreck in the background will probably remain a mere mental image of mine.
