Couldn't find a post for this, so let's have it ... what do you love to watch, and why?
My current top comedy and drama series:
- The Big Bang Theory. Absolutely hilarious! I'm obsessed with Sheldon, and laugh so hard sometimes at his antics that I can barely breath. I share my home with my 80 year old mother. She's heard me laughing hysterically so often that she actually watched it last night. She came in smiling and said she really enjoyed it. She's tentatively planning to watch it regularly instead of Jeapardy, her usual fare on that night. Her only problem? She enjoyed it so much more than Jeopardy that she says she wouldn't get any sorting done while watching it!!! ;D
- Flashpoint. Cop drama without the gore. LOVE it!!!
There are lots of other crime drama that I like, including Bones and Law & Order, but for now they're on the second tier of my "love it" list.
Strictly Come Dancing.
Anything with David Attenborough in it.
Dr Who.

- The Big Bang Theory.
I just started watching this because it was mentioned on this forum, I can't believe I've missed it until now.
I think the only things I watch regularly anymore are The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and (to my embarrassment) Iron Chef America. When I can remember, I watch Real Time with Bill Mahr, Grimm (because it reminds me of the Whedon shows) and the British Being Human (don't know if they're going to make it past season 4 without George and Mitchell).
The Wire
I can not even put into words how fantastic this TV epic is. There is a reason why it is classed as one of the best TV programs of all time and has the highest metacritic score of all time, however it has one downside; it ruins the vast majority of what you may have considered good TV beforehand, especially crime dramas. If you haven't watched it yet you are missing out but do not expect instant gratification or a black and white storyline as The Wire doesn't really stick to any conventions.
Bones
I can't stand the normal cop shows because of the blood, but I love Bones. It's pretty good for a laugh.
It's not a favorite by any stretch of the imagination--in fact, the show is simply terrible by any standard I hold--but I don't know why I can't quit American Idol.
I think I might watch too much TV but seeing as I'm more or less retired I'm allowed.
The Big Bang Theory...Easily my favorite American show. It has physicists, Caltech and for all the trouble Sheldon's Asperger syndrome causes he still reveres Richard Feynman.
Mike and Molly...No physicists but it does have funny fat people.
Bomb Patrol Afghanistan...My favorite "Reality Show"
Dirty Jobs...Mike Rowe cracks me up.
Animated shows I like.
Archer...I need to keep my rescue inhaler close by when watching this because it might make me laugh to death.
The Simpson's...It's still a great show after all these years.
Family Guy....Not as good as it used to be but still worth watching.
UK Shows I watch.
QI...Simply the best.
IT Crowd...Moss never fails to delight.
The Old Guys...Tom and Roy are great.
Top Gear UK...A good show in small doses but Clarkson gets on my nerves after a while.
Sherlock...Who knew that the classic Arthur Conan Doyle would work so well in modern day London?
I'm sure I forgot some.

QI...Simply the best.
What is this?
I forgot about 2 other shows I often watch when I can remember to: Nadia G's Bitchin' Kitchen (cooking instruction combined with comedy), and The Supersizers Go . . . (food and history combined with comedy).

A paste from the British thread -The Pythons, Hitchhikers Guide, Terry Pratchett, The IT Crowd, Red Dwarf, Black Books, Men Behaving Badly, Ab Fab, QI, Simon Pegg - Spaced. Also Wallis and Gromit, Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes, An Idiot Abroad, Doctor Who, Sherlock (the modern one Crocoduck recommends.
Star Treks, Star Gate, Big Bang, The Simpsons, Buffy, Firefly, Dexter, Deadwood.
There are local things no one has probably heard of, Rake, The Chaser, Gruen Transfer.

In more ways than one, but ours can be a platonic love.
Oh, I LOVE Red Dwarf!!! I haven't seen it in ages ... must dig it out. :)

Which one?
They are both OK but they do have a differing appeal.

I miss the Mythbusters. Did anyone see that they are coming out with a new show? I think that it's about teams trying to build complex machines for a contest, but it looks really interesting.

Mythbusters has a new series out in three weeks! (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg338.imageshack.us%2Fimg338%2F3057%2Fyipeesh7.gif&hash=0d60ef5d360fad8f5d8b5baa4ba35aa77de31725)
Lately I mostly stick to watching HBO mini series (they're the best) when they come out, but when I would watch cable the shows I would watch almost religiously were House and the Amazing Race.
Game of Thrones season 2 is coming April 1st. ;D

I'm anxiously awaiting Game of Thrones. Do you watch Spartacus?
I tend toward cooking shows, history shows, medical shows.
I don't watch many sitcoms, though sometimes I'll watch Bones.
I really like Castle a lot. Also Body of Proof. I used to really like Law and Order Criminal Intent, but they messed it up.
Doctor Who (Old and New), Star Trek, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Farscape, Firefly
Do some of the UK people here remember the show Supersizers Go? These two people (He's a food writer and she's a comdedian) live a week in a certain time period and dress the part and eat the foods they would have eaten. It's a lot of fun!

I vaguely remember this being advertised but never watched it. I'll have to look it up.

I started watching it, but stopped after the second or third episode (couldn't find the free streamed episodes again).
Another good HBO miniseries is "The Borgias". Highly recommended.

Love that show! It's the only food oriented show that doesn't make me feel like cooking.

I watched Spartacus, quite enjoyed that.
The first series of Game of Thrones came out on DVD yesterday so I bought that as people here have been keen on it.

I like what they do but I find Adam Savage so annoying it's hard to enjoy the show.
