I thought this would be a fun thread topic, since we have a nice long one going on 'reasons to be cheerful'. This is specifically the 'who' part of that. It's a wide open question. It can be people you know, people you don't, celebrities, the average Joe next door, etc etc. Who can you think of who either inspires you, makes you happy, cheers you up, and/or just generally makes your life brighter? ;D
(and yes, if you consider your pet to be a family member, go ahead and toss 'em in here, but just hope Asmo doesn't run 'em down/eat 'em. ;) )
I do consider my dogs a part of my family, and they all make me happy! Whenever I'm down they're always there for me to be with so I don't ever have to be lonely.
I also have a really great open-minded friend. I haven't seen her in real life in a while, but we both have blogs and we always read each others. It's always nice to have her support.
My mom, my little Italian greyhounds Merlin and Willow, my quilt bee members, my brother, my niece and nephew, a friend out west, Duane (The Rock) Johnson, Sheldon on "Big Bang Theory", Whoopie Goldberg, Bill Cosby ....
I have no fear for Deirdre the cat -- all that sleeping she does is just a cover up for plotting, I'm sure of it. The Asmo would become her willing slave and not even know it had happened. Since it's impossible to fight it, I just go along with the napping and yes, it does make me happy to sleep with the little furball curled up on my hip.
My girlfriend is the one who inspires me. She's my standard for common sense and decency, I watch the way she is with people and try to copy it if possible, or at least adapt it to my less social personality.

I like your taste.
Marven the robot and Eeyore.
My daughters used to give cheer when they were little but they are often annoying these days. I'm still nice to them for old times sake though, and I still have the pictures of them when they were cute.
My mom, my horse Vinnie, my FFA leader
David Attenborough. One of the finest humans who has ever, or will ever, walk the plant.

Yes. Sir David.
...And The Small One
My son, my husband (when he's not annoying me - it's about a 50/50 ratio ;D), my parents, my brother, and my dog. And Jim Gaffigan and Louis C.K.
