Shit happens...
Too bad it doesn't happen close enough for The Asmo to collect some souveniers though. :(
A for effort?

Yeah, if they're going to dump one, it should be in the Baltic or North Sea, right? Closer to home.

No, you probably don't. Best the world does not suspect. It's all a part of a very complicated exotic particles gathering plan, as described in The Road to World Domination in 1754 Easy Steps. :D

I thought I saw all the "Road" movies Bob and Bing made but I must have missed that one. Road to Zanzibar was my favorite.

Oh, they do. Those carrier rockets are, as far as I know, of a more reliable variety and the design of the craft itself has been used for decades... Pretty much as reliable as a government program can make.
that thing didn't really look like it would have survived a landing on mars anyway; unless they had built in some autopilot to land it like a human could. The US mars probe had giant crash bubbles around them....the russian one looks like the old lunar lander.

It wasn't going to Mars, was it? To Phobos, no?
In any case, both Russia and the States have landed stuff on Mars before with relative success some times.
At least they're still trying, 'Merka cancelled a lot of our space programs... if only there was a way to re-ignite the US vs. Soviet space race...

Yes, I believe it was going to try and scoop up some dirt from one of the moons, something like 8 oz. worth. The US, if nothing else, has had a fair amount of success using unmanned probes and telescopes, except for the one that crashed when one group was using the metric system and the other was using the US measurement system.
Must have been a nasty moment for the inhabitants of Wellington Island.
