Title: Rolls-Royce car sales hit new record
Post by: Tank on January 09, 2012, 01:04:28 PM
Rolls-Royce car sales hit new record (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16440548)

QuoteRolls-Royce Motor Cars has reported record sales for 2011, having sold 3,538 cars.

Sales at the BMW-owned luxury marque grew by 31% from the previous year, although the growth rate was weaker than in 2010 when sales jumped by 150%.

Rolls-Royce's £165,000 Ghost model, which is smaller and less ostentatious than the £235,000 Phantom models, has been the main driving force for sales.

Rolls chief Torsten Muller-Otvos said 2011 had been an "outstanding year"...

Just goes to show that there is still a ton of disposable income out there if you know how to find it.

Oh yeah. I've been buying them up like crazy. I don't know where to put all my extra ones, either.

;D

Meh... If I went British (Well... German, really), I'd get a Bentley.

I'd prefer an Aston Martin with loads of cool James Bond gadgets.

I'd have a Rolls but I would also require a driver as one does not drive their own Rolls-Royce. (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vicious-trollop.com%2Fuserforum%2Fimages%2Fsmilies%2Fsnob.gif&hash=24b8992dd1f9c5a5a7d6f28e05947557e9e3123d)

Aston Martins are pretty - have to give them that, but a bit too sporty for being big, expensive luxury cruisers.

I'd have a DB9 LONG before I'd buy some Ferrari or Lambo bullshit, but I'd have ye old hundred thousand dollar merc long before a DB9.

Damn straight, I'd take an SLS AMG over pretty much any car.

My daugter works for a Mercades franchise in Leeds. One chap returned one he had bought because it was costing him £3,000 in petrol EACH MONTH!

Like Astons, RRs and Bentleys don't drink..!  ::)

Actually, they are ok as long as you don't have too much fun with them, but using the accelerator pedal increases consumption exponentially as the pedal goes to the floor.

Oh my days that's ludicrous, even if I was rolling in money 3 grand a month is a complete joke. I wonder what the tax man would say if you tried to get £36,000 on petrol as a business expenses.
