Well, the christian fundie gripers are at it again:
http://christwire.org/2012/01/12-reasons-to-boycott-game-of-thrones-in-2012-2/
In the above link they list 12 reasons for boycotting the HBO series "Game of Thrones". As usual the reasons range from the moralistic to the insane. The show apparently endorses sex, violent sex, gay sex, drugs, witchcraft, atheism, paganism and the usual too much violence.
I know we have heard most of this sort of thing before, but are there any thoughts on this particular instance of silly?
P.S. If you know a little history, prepare to face-palm at reason 2.
I have no problems with boycotts, if one doesn't want to watch some thing, then don't.
That said, I do think it's kind of silly because The Game of Thrones is a childrens story when compared to what's in the bible.

Bondage sex? Does it endorse that too? Because if not, it probably should. And why not? I can see a show with all kinds of sex, drugs and rock 'n roll getting some pretty decent ratings on that alone.

The article is a pisstake.
QuoteLesbianism. For many the word evokes a sense of exoticism and controversy. Others may consider it an implausible act, something a certain type of spurned woman turns to out of bitterness. In recent years, however, lesbianism has skyrocketed to become a fact of life in multicultural, liberal America. Traditional marriage has unfortunately been swept up in this tide of egregious political correctness. Many married men are now facing the incredible challenge of a spouse experimenting with same-sex desires.
Ooh yeah... I suppose that challenge could turn out to be quite incredible in oh, so many ways ;D
(Just something I found on the same site)

Yes, if the site is serious (might be a case of Poe's law, who knows) it appears to be a little counterproductive...
I'm already a fan of the books and series, but if I weren't I would certainly be interested after that advertisement.
Quote7. At times, the series appears to be little more than an excuse to display illicit homosexual scenarios.
Flamboyant costumes, effeminate longhaired men, boys shaving each other's armpits...
I'm dying.
But yes, this site must be one big Poe. Names of other articles:
1) How to spot a Masturbator
2) Vajazzling, the Newest Threat to Your College Son
3) 5 Christmas Things Gays Have Ruined
4) I Am Extremely Terrified of Chinese People
5) Biblical Justification for Casey Anthony
I think the whole site is like one big Poe Onion. I dub it The Ponion.

According to a test imbedded in the article, I'm a ISTP on the Meyer-Briggs scale, which makes me Arya Stark. I am so not Arya Stark.
Arya was definitely the cooler of the two sisters though!
I'm an ISFP: Daenerys Targaryen

True, and I wouldn't mind being her but I'm just not. I'm more of a mix of Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister but I guess they just don't have a combination of letters for that!

Now that is cool: naked, fire-proof and covered in dragons.

Reason 1 not to watch GoT, "in real life" is hyperlinked. Or I can just do this: Which GoT character are you? (http://www.gameofthrones.tv/2011/11/17/your-personality-type-and-which-game-of-thrones-character-you-are/)

Cool, thanks for the direct link :)
I always get INTJ, which would make me a Petyr Baelish. Not sure how I feel about that.

Agreed. I have checked some of their other articles. Either they are a Poe site, or they are stark fuck nuts...

Ah, yes. A friend showed me this a couple of days ago. It's hilarious, but complete satire.
