Recently devoured this book. What a fun, quick, dark, intriguing and suspenseful book! Anyone else read it? Anyone seen the movie (I'm going to try to see it this weekend)? I'm interested in any Nordic member's opinion of it.
Hell yeah, I read all three of the books in the same month. I'm sort of wanting to go and see the film which comes out over here on 26th December, but I'm also worried because rarely do films live up to the book. I saw the Swedish film a couple of years back, but I was too wrecked on Wadworths 6X and Morgan's Spiced Rum to get into it and the subtitles did my head in.
But yes - I thought the books were all excellent - they get better as they go on too IMO. :)
I haven't read the books. Did watch the Swedish movies though and I liked them. I want to see the American one as well, but I don't know when.
Read the books. A bit OTT, I thought, but a good read. A pity Larsson's dead, I was hoping that in the next book Salander would remember her neat proof of FLT.
I watched all three of the original movies (Netflix streaming) - very good all around.
Will probably see the Hollywood version, but fully expect that it's been bedazzled to death...
Good books and movies, going to watch the Hollywood one this week.
Finally started reading the first book as I have had all three for over a year just gathering dust. So far I don't get what all the fuss is about but I am only a quarter of the way through so a bit premature to give an opinion.
I watched the Hollywood version last week, I really liked it.

Nothing receives the same amount of fuss from everyone.
2 of the three books so far. Liked them a lot. Saw the Swedish originals and really liked them. I've yet to see the Hollywood version, but I doubt it can improve upon the originals. Like Old Git, I would have liked to have seen Salander's proof of FLT!
On a side note, I just saw the new Sherlock Holmes, and didn't even recognize Noomi Rapace in it. I was stunned when the credits rolled and saw her name! She's quite talented.
I loved the book! I can't wait to see the movie!
