Title: Sir David Attenborough's First Life
Post by: Asmodean on October 27, 2011, 02:57:39 PM
If you have not seen it, I recommend it highly. He talks in relatively easy terms about the origin of life - from primitive to complex.

There are four parts. The links to parts 2-4 are easy to find, so I do not include them here.

Something I wonder about...

Attenborough talks about the bilateral symmetry being the major breakthrough in terms of evolution of complex organisms...

Hypothetically, and for the same reasons mentioned in the video, would that mean that complex life on other planets would likely be bilaterally symmetrical as well? Or are there other potential ways of evolving cool stuff like appendages and teeth and the like..?
