I'm so freaked out! I haven't had to evacuate yet yet... but my parents live in Encinitas and it looks like they're going to go first.

This is just insane. I ran out to get gas and the wind is insane and the air is red and smoky... Just insane and completely surreal. I've been packing up my car, but if my place burns down, it will officially be the worst day ever.

Oh my... take care of yourself, Bella! Pack it up and run away now... do you have somewhere to go? I'm up in Oregon... not TOO far.

Got a guest room, too.
I wish you the best! I was just in San Diego a couple of weeks ago on my honeymoon and I saw how dry everything was... crazy!
Water down your roof and property with a hose as much as you can. It can help to prevent the fire from catching on your house. Best of luck.
Best of luck Bella - take care - this sounds awful.
Thank you all.

I think I won't have to evacuate... it's looking like the fires are burning west and may hit the coast!! I'm not as scared as before... just still on edge. People have been talking about praying for help. *head+desk*.

Ech! It keeps getting worse....
"Dear God, please stop burning us up. I just bought new furniture and it was kind of expensive. Amen."
I lied, there's one coming at me... All fires are still 0% contained.
"Dear God, can you turn the fire into a win for the Lakers?"
Seriously, please be safe. Soak your roof and walls with the garden hose. Concentrate on any dry trees or bushes on your property, too. You can spend the time other people are spending pretending a big white guy in a beard might safe them preparing, reasonably.
Jesus, be careful, Bella, those fires can really move quickly. I hope you make it through okay. Keep us updated, will ya'?
P.S. Maybe I won't be moving to San Diego.
I'm still here and it looks like it will miss my parents, too. Yea... earthquakes aren't actually a problem here... it's the fires.
That's some good news!
Thanks for the update, Bella.

That doesn't sound good at all, i hope you and your parents will be safe!
glad you're safe for now, Bella... what color is your sky? I know fires are awful, but whenever I see photographs of the sky during big huge fires, it's always so pretty (in a purely asthetic sense). If you can take a picture, I'd love to see it!
It's just kind of ugly and hazy white right now (although the sunsets are pretty). Here are some pictures, but I didn't take them. My ex took the last one. It's my school from Sunday night.

Those are amazing! Love the reds and yellows... what a sad sight to see, but it is beautiful what nature can do when she's angry, eh?
Heh, yea... Sometimes people around here forget that we are actually living in a desert.
I had to bite my tounge not to tell the fundies that my house didn't burn down although I didn't pray for help and I don't go to church... I think I'll wait a few years. It seems too mean otherwise.
How terribly depressing that it's so beautiful.
And shame on Fox News for blaming the al Qaeda. When Fox News finally does piss off the wrong people some day and someone burns down the building, I'll bet they blame the al Qaeda.
^Whaaaat? I missed that! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT!

Fox News: "Special follow-up report tonight at 11 - following an investigative report led by Fox journalists, Swingline staplers are now being removed from all places of work in the US..."
Milton: "They, they took my stapler.....I'm going to burn down their building!"
OMG, I LOVE MILTON!!! I have my very own red Swingline, thanks to that movie. AND an "Office Space" coffee mug. Milton RULES!
I love the guy, or gal, rowing.
Hey Frank, are you gonna hose down your house or pack up the Range Rover in case we gotta evac?
-Nope, I'm goin for a row.
