Are they purposefully ignoring him or is he just presenting him to the guy shaking their hands? ???
Considering how even protestants tend to view the pope in high regard I'd say that they were avoiding shaking his hand on purpose....and the pope's hand was outreached so I don't think it was because they were not to touch it.
No. I think the pope is introducing the politician along the line of bishops and some bishops are shaking the pope's hand in error, interpreting the directing gesture of the pope as an offer to shake his hand. I think the bishops who shake his hand have got the protocol wrong.
The poor old fellow didn't look very happy.

Yeah, he looks rather stiff or tense, and thought it's visible he's mouthing something while walking, I'm not too sure whether it's because he was introducing them or trying to greet them. I think he was actually introducing them though, but with that awkward outreached arm stance.

Frankly if I'm still moving that well when I'm that age I'll be both amazed and delighted!
That's true. And I don't know why I felt sorry for the boss of such a repulsive gang. I guess I'm all heart.
Why did I keep expecting bolts of electricity to shoot out of his hands and burn everyone around him to a crisp?

So I'm not alone in relating the Pope to like, The Emperor from Star Wars? I've always had that connection in my mind, not entirely sure why, but I see him and that's immediately who I think of.
That was hilarious.
Maybe they are pissed because he outed them for child molesting.
