Title: Focus on the Family Lays Off 49 More Workers
Post by: Chronos on September 21, 2011, 01:11:40 AM
Focus on the Family Lays Off 49 More Workers (http://www.christianpost.com/news/focus-on-the-family-lays-off-49-more-workers-55824/)

Quote
This new 7 percent staff reduction in the Colorado Springs, Colo.-based pro-family group brought the employee number to 650, down from a 2002 peak of 1,400 people, according to The Denver Post.

"God has never promised us a certain budget number. We're sad today but not distraught about the future," FOTF Vice President Gary Schneeberger was quoted as saying.

Among other things ... or perhaps never anything at all?

He works in his own way on his own time using his own schedule ... which is a random number generator.

$90 million budget, from donations. What a waste of money.

Don't worry folks, there are other organizations around to take up the slack. For instance, the American Family Association (http://www.afa.net/). They have a side project devoted exclusively to the "Won't SOMEBODY PLEASE think of the CHILDREN!" meme, called "One Million Moms." They don't miss a trick. Their latest outrage is Ben and Jerry's Schweddy Balls ice cream (http://onemillionmoms.com/IssueDetail.asp?id=422).

"Their latest outrage is Ben and Jerry's Schweddy Balls ice cream."

Oh my god, I want some. Right now. Probably not to eat, but to put on display in my freezer as a conversation starter.

I like and support anything and everything that gets to those overprotective parents without being directly harmful. Totally buying stock in that one  ;D

:o You have conversation starters in your freezer? How does that work? "Come on folks, let's go look at what's in my freezer!"   :D ;)

Oh, go fucking drink some tainted punch and kill   yourselves.
I swear, I am DAMN sick of bored housewives who want to "protect the  children"  by attempting to censor reality.  It's icecream, it's funny, it's based off SNL. GET OVER IT.

If Scweddy Balls keeps you from getting into Heaven, you can't get over it.

I wish B&J would come out with a flavor called:

Right-Wing Nut Job

or

Christ Almighty!

or

Burning Bush

or

Ramadanadingdong

or

Lotsadaughters

etc

Hmm, "fudge-covered rum and malt balls"... you know, that sounds good!  ;)

Heh... Had another look at that foolishness and found this:

Quote from: Idiot Moms AnonymousThey are openly recruiting teens and children to become 'gay' on a program that also promotes the transgender and homosexual lifestyle.

OMM wonders how the helpline helps a child or teenager who may be a bit confused about his or her sexuality, since it openly promotes that "if you call this helpline, you are not persuaded to walk away from the lifestyle. You are persuaded to be proud and embrace it."

Oh my God, they're telling children to be, WHO THEY ARE?! How dare they! Children are supposed to be who we TELL them to be! Outrage! Scandal!

Now I can't stop reading about the "issues" these people have. One of their protests was against oreo cookies because one of their ads used the phrase "shut the front door". Yes.

Whoa. Their causes are just...whoa. :o

If these mothers are so concerned about what their kids watch on TV, why not just cancel the ol' cable subscription? I mean, come on, is Bert and Ernie's televised marriage really that offensive? Those puppets have loved each other for years. Surely, Ernie deserves to be placed on Bert's company HMO.

Well... YES. What's the point of children, if not molding them into perfect clones of their parents' wishes?

Some people are just so... I can't find the right word. Undeserving of having children, for starters. I can actually summon a scrap of pity for the kids growing up in homes where they are sheltered from the real world to the best of their parents' ability... Because when the world inevitably smacks them in the mouth, they feel it the hardest.

I really do feel bad, just because I was pretty sheltered when I was little. Of course, it was mostly since I hated any sight of blood when I was young. My mom really didn't have much of a strong opinion of nudity with me. I think it was because I absolutely loved looking through her med school books, and there were more than a few peckers in there.

But then again I didn't really learn much about the bad stuff until I started going to public school. Sometimes I'm still shocked at how perverted a lot of the people in my school. I've seen some of the boys grope some of the girls and the girls not giving a second thought. I do believe that if that if they ever did that to me, they would feel the wrath of my anatomy textbook.

Also, Shweddy Balls. That made me laugh so hard. I've had it, it's good.
