Title: What Jesus disapproves of.
Post by: Sweetdeath on September 19, 2011, 02:07:18 PM
Hey guys, just thought you'd like to have a pretty good laugh (or eyeroll) at really insane things that apparently are sacreligious in pop culture.

http://www.cracked.com/article_16619_7-things-from-pop-culture-that-apparently-piss-jesus-off.html?wa_user1=3&wa_user2=Weird+World&wa_user3=article&wa_user4=flashback  <~~ laughable.

On a side note:  what was the most ridiculous thing a christian ever told you was offensive to their religion?

I think it's quite ridiculous, how people in all seriousness tell you what a person who, if ever lived, died two thousand years ago, a person they never knew would approve or disapprove of...

And so they make fools out of themselves by jumping to conclusions on sketchy and unreliable knowledge, and they don't even seem to realise that.  >:(

My daughter has loved Sponge Bob for years.
More recently she's taken a liking to Ellen DeGeneres.
Oh infinitely wise pink pony, should I be concerned?

I think that would have to be that wearing a swim suit under regular clothes (to make it easier to change when going to the beach) was a breach of Morman decorum.

It's mildly amusing that the "new" Starbuck's logo gets their hackles up. In fact it's a revival of the original logo (http://www.deadprogrammer.com/starbucks-logo-mermaid) which was apparently changed to avoid offending the large Christian prude coffee-drinking market.  The article is from 2008, and I think the original logo has gone back into hiding.

I would be.  This is ultimately leading her down the sin path, where she may work a short time at starbucks (FALSE IDOL WORSHIP.)

if Starbucks properly put a devil or demon in their logo I might bother to fraternise their soulless identikit shops and drink some of the tasteless brown liquid they pass off as coffee. Never mind that clown Jesus, I disapprove of Starbucks!

"My sweet Jesus" looks delicious! I bet a few nibbles of him would be quite tasty alongside some slutbucks!

Same here, Lions.   I don't support starbucks, because I am a big fan of the small family owned shops that actually care and don't charge $6 for coffee.  I've had their coffee, and its pretty gross, though dunkin donuts is much  worse.

same goes SD, I like old school Italian cafes, and there are very few left in the UK. They've all had Starbucks, Caffe Nero and Costa Coffee chain shops open next to them and put them out of business. One of the downsides of the free market economy unfortunately.

I was in the military. I learned that coffee should be hot, black and strong enough to stand up without the aid of a cup. Starbucks is neither.

As for the stupidities of evangelicals... was anyone really surprised?

My grampa used to say he likes his coffe like his women: hot and on the table.

:D that's probably a bit better than what I normally say, which is a jokingly said 'like my men - strong and black'.

As a counter-protest to the ridiculous blathering against Starbucks by Xtian sexual hysterics, I bought a Starbucks travel mug with the original, sluttish logo on it.  I plan to display the imaginary fish-woman proudly and, frankly, it's only going to be funny if some religious group acts like jittery, 90-yr old spinsters about it.

I don't even drink coffee, but hysterical people annoy me and I'll get behind fish-taled slut women anyday.
